Pre-Doomverse Era
Omar's online and YouTube presence dates back to 2007 with the channel "Suavesuave suavecito" (presumably a channel owned by "Rodrigo Salazar", It was discovered that it was an alias of Omar). This channel has been his most successful project in terms of metrics, amassing nearly half a million subscribers and videos with millions of views—content driven primarily by fake news about public figures and various events in Mexico.
In 2013, at the age of 28, Omar began contributing to El Deforma, a satirical news site that is widely known in Mexico. There are records of articles published under his real name between 2013 and 2017. It is known that he earned less than the minimum wage and, in his own words, was "exploited." (As usual, given his history of pathological lying, these statements should be taken with a grain of salt)
However, the landscape changed drastically in 2017 when SDP Noticias (which was already in a strategic alliance with Televisa) acquired El Deforma. Faced with the perception that the site's editorial stance would be compromised to favor then-President Enrique Peña Nieto, Omar decided to leave the project (although he initially claimed to have been fired). Shortly thereafter, he founded his own satirical site: El Ruinaversal, a direct parody of the famous newspaper El Universal.
Despite his vow to compete with his former employer, the operational disparity was vast: while El Deforma boasted a team of several people, El Ruinaversal was a project run solely by Omar. This led Cortés to focus on the mass production of mediocre, low-quality content and fake news under the guise of "satire." His "satirical newspaper" was such a failure that he had to pretend there was a team behind it—led by him—giving rise to the aliases "Rodrigo Salazar," "Rodrigo Valderrama," and "Ernesto Valderrama." Omar, seeing his fail, began to display a spiteful personality, maintaining a one-sided feud with El Deforma. He has repeatedly accused the site of "stealing his stories," attempting to instigate confrontations that, for the most part, El Deforma has ignored.
It reached the point where El Deforma was accused of plagiarizing his content over the years—obviously without proof. (Accusing others without showing proof is something very common for Omar.)

By then, Omar was already known for participating in streams and live video calls, albeit under the alias Rodrigo Salazar.
Examples include fan groups of musicians—such as Reina Esther, a 50-year-old Colombian woman who was targeted by Omar, and an individual nicknamed "Big Bigote Baby," whom Omar accused of being a womanizer and a pedophile simply for attending a concert by one of Omar's favorite singers.

Omar is known for having no limits when it comes to defamation and attacks, going so far as to target famous figures—including then-President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Univision journalist Gustavo Adolfo Infante, and TV Azteca journalist Andrea Legarreta, among others. According to subsequent statements, one of these celebrities successfully filed a complaint against Omar, resulting in a criminal record that prevented him from working in Mexico.

Doomverse Saga
The turning point in Cortés's digital career occurred on August 11, 2022. While the Debanhi Escobar case was going viral in Mexico, a group of users linked to "Doomposting" circulated a fake Facebook post connecting the YouTuber Doomentio to the incident. Omar picked up this false story and produced a video spreading it, thereby marking his rocky foray into the "Doomverse."

The "lolcow" Doomentio began complaining about the fake news, and Omar—now using the alias "Ruinaversal"—asked him to join a livestream to clear things up. This encounter led to the now-infamous "8-hour stream," a broadcast known for the confrontations between Doomentio, Jerry, and Ken L. Wright; it ended with Doom's humiliation (as is typical) and established Omar as a new, well-known figure in the "Doomverse."
Despite being aware of rather questionable aspects of Doomentio's personal life—such as the incident involving his sister's pillow—Cortés decided to deepen his involvement in the Doomverse. His motives were never clear, but it is speculated that his decision was driven by the audience's morbid curiosity and the fact that he noticed an increase in revenue and views on his (all-but-dead) channel. The first point is that Omar is known to be living in extreme poverty and is desperate to monetize content to cover his household's basic expenses.
During this same period, "Doomposting" began depicting him as Homer Simpson, alluding to a supposed initial naivety regarding the nature of the Doomverse. But what goes up must come down, and Omar's rise in popularity coincided with the peak of the "Doomposting" group's notoriety and influence. They attempted to doxx Omar—now known as "Ruinaversal"—prompting him to host an eight-hour livestream on May 2, 2023, during which many people exposed the Doomposting leader, Sebdan.
Although the goal was to expose the atrocities committed by Sebdan and his group—such as the harassment and doxxing of innocent people, alongside the fact that the Doomposting community was a hotbed for child pornography and pedophilia—Omar largely ignored or downplayed these accusations. Instead, he focused on the doxxing directed at him, demonstrating that he cared nothing about the severity of the offenses, provided he was not the one being victimized.
Following these events, Omar’s true personality gradually came to light—an obsessive, explosive, and even harassing nature—to the point where he would doxx the family and friends of his detractors just to "win" online, as happened with the individuals who had doxxed him, Sebdan and Kyuka Fox.
This event marked a PR victory for Omar, who was perceived as the one responsible for the fall of "Doomposting" and the catalyst for the decline of the Kenverse and the Doomverse. However, Cortés’s reputation soon spiraled back into controversy due to his own volatile nature; once users and trolls realized how easily Omar could be provoked, it sparked what came to be known as the "autistic doxxing wars." In this conflict, Ruinaversal found himself pitted against disturbed individuals like Noxium (a known distributor of child pornography and a doxxer) and the latter's ally, "General Whis" (a corrupt public official who used work hours to harass people). Throughout the conflict, both sides attempted to dox and ruin each other's lives.
After months of fighting and widespread doxxing, he managed to expose Noxium's personal information; just when it seemed Omar would finally find peace—free from the harassment of his tormentors—he decided to further ruin his life by stepping into another "lolcow" universe just as depraved as the Doomverse:
Espartaco Saga
In mid-2024, amidst a lack of "Doomverse"-related content—and aware that his new followers viewed him merely as a thug rather than a journalist—Espartaco 18 emerged on the scene, quickly being labeled the Hispanic internet's "new lolcow." Omar Cortés, who had previously had no involvement in the matter, joined the mob targeting Espartaco in a desperate bid to revitalize his all-but-abandoned channel and earn money to alleviate his extreme poverty. Under the pretext of conducting an "interview," Cortés invited Espartaco 18 to his channel; however, the encounter turned out to be designed solely to humiliate the guest. This event not only prompted Espartaco's first temporary hiatus from the internet but also marked the beginning of a massive output of content about him by Cortés, positioning the latter as Espartaco's quintessential "A-Log"
Ruinaversal’s obsession with Espartaco reached near-pathological levels when he devised a scheme to completely ruin Espartaco’s life through a supposed event dubbed "Espartacoton." The plan involved tricking Espartaco 18 with the promise of a trip to Spain, while the actual goal was to leave him stranded and fending for himself on another continent. Such psychopathic behavior is typical of Omar, who derives pleasure from destroying lives while claiming he was "being attacked"—even though he is usually the one who instigates the conflicts.

Since then, Omar's increasingly paranoid and obsessive personality has become more apparent, alienating many and leading to conflicts with numerous other YouTubers—and even ordinary users—whose only offense was criticizing his toxic behavior. This has been evident in his feuds with various YouTubers such as La Casa de Matthew, Pato Cuack, Valentine, Yabazta Rob Paper Sheet, Lobo Ortriak, and VoraVora. Users who simply made a video criticizing or mocking his attitude ended up facing fraudulent strikes and threats of doxxing and harassment from Omar and his followers—now known as "Ruinatards."

Recently—despite criticizing doxxing as "illegal"—Ruinaversal has employed a pedophile and stalker named "Francisco Galax" (real name: Francisco Estuardo Cornejo Davila) as a sort of thug. Galax is a 32-year-old Guatemalan known to be a pedophile, groomer, compulsive stalker, and defender of child molesters. He was found to be responsible for instigating various conflicts between Omar and his enemies, driven by the goal—in his own words—of "having something to entertain myself with."
Galax is known to have orchestrated doxxing campaigns and attacks against individuals who criticized or even investigated Ruinaversal. Notable examples include Valentine and a user named "Victor"; in the latter case, there were even plans to dox Victor's entire family and have him deported from the United States—solely because he had investigated Omar's past.
It is currently believed that Ruinaversal has cut ties with Galax. This follows Galax being doxxed by a former ally named "Warren" and the surfacing of chat logs with Omar's enemies, in which Galax confessed to various crimes—including plans to kill Ruinaversal, ostensibly for "entertainment."
The actions taken by Ruinaversal and Galax were so severe that people began putting up posters and banners against Ruina all over his neighborhood, causing Omar’s powerlevel to drop significantly—a state that persists to this day.

In 2026, Null launched a Spanish-language domain for Kiwifarms with the aim of entering Spanish-speaking online circles. Driven by an obsession with seeing his own name on the internet and monitoring what was being said about him, Ruinaversal discovered that his thread appeared in Google search results. This prompted Omar to file a formal complaint against the Kiwifarms domain with NIC Panama—a move confirmed by Null.
Omar, who has a history of censoring anything said against him online, unsuccessfully tried to take down Kiwifarms to stop people from badmouthing him—a move that failed completely and only sparked greater interest in him. To this day, Kiwifarms remains his biggest headache; he speaks of the site with sheer hatred, dismissing it by claiming that "they are obsessed with him because he is a celebrity."
