Almost correct. Other currencies are measured in dollars because dollars are what you use to buy oil. The petrodollar is what is backing the USD, so as long as society uses oil (hint: it's gonna be a long time) they will have to either buy oil in dollars or try to form another BRICS which is not going very well at this point.

I will agree with this, but I think part of it is likely still fallout from COVID reducing quality control on nearly everything just to keep parts flowing. We had a RAM shortage the year before COVID, then an everything shortage during COVID. Remember the Nvidia GPUs that used too small of capacitors and blew themselves out under normal use? That's going to affect us for a while, and we might just now be starting to get back to decent quality control on things.
