IDK, anything said by someone who runs to indignantly comment on a profile seems like a waste of time.
You get a lot of friendy users who would leave nice messages too, those are always appreciated . The only reason why anyone would hide their profile is because they are the biggest pussy imaginable. If you can't handle the odd troll posting on your wall then this website isn't for you.

If you have any questions, feel free.
I hope I'm not too late.

I saw your video and I completely agree creepcast and Wendigoon are the current taste makers of horror.

First: So what are your thoughts on the Creepcast era of horror?

Second: What do you think made the Creepypasta / Early SCP eras so iconic? Because written internet horror has never really produced something to that level. And the majority of those stories were terribly written.

His argument about Angel Engine wasn't that its use of AI was evil, it was that the bones of a good story were there, but it was held back by AI. He was turned off initially because it used AI visually, as a lot of people are, but he actually kind of liked the story once he sat down and watched it. The issue with Angel Engine is that the AI visuals are inconsistent, thereby making it sometimes impossible to understand what's actually going on.
I generally agreed with wendigoon's take on that angel engine thing but I did find it somewhat odd how quite a lot of the popular tranalog horror series use/used AIslop on the regular and yet they don't get any flack thrown their way. That graylock series, the fnaf ripoff one who's name I can't remember (not the walten files) and a bunch of other series...

Other AH commentators have been harping hard on them. It is weird that Wendigoon chose Angel Engine though....

Not really. He probably really liked the game but then realized that the series was AI slop. So to get ahead of the controversy and not have to scrap a playthrough of the game he did his video on why the series is bad.

You don't belong on forums then if you block off one of the main features of forums/forum culture. Le mean words on the screen shouldn't affect you at all.

I'm gonna be honest I didnt even realize it was hidden. I am actually glad you pointed that out so I can change that. You are still libtarded tho

Edit: you are also malding because you mati reacted me within 60 seconds of posting this on a Sunday. Go to church

It's fun dunking on Wendigoon but I wouldn't put him even in the 50% on the youtubers that deserve mocking scale. He is similar to AVGN that he can do the occasional fun and informative piece, but the quality dipped a lot, and "muh family" as an excuse is becoming annoying.
AVGN has been doing this for almost 20 years, him phoning it in is understandable.

Man, my bad. Internet forums are serious business and people aren't cringe weirdoes for taking it super serious to the point of outrage. This isn't just a website... it truly is a way of life. I should've respected that. I'll unlock my profile, now. It was a grave error and one that will haunt me to the end of my days. If you don't see my profile open immediately, please just wait and refresh a few times.

Hanging around in the communities related the show for a while, before I dipped or was tossed out for questioning stuff, I think very thoroughly that few people are there for the stories. Like at all. It's obviously just the merged fandoms of the two hosts, and it's likely they'd keep watching no matter what the subject of the show changed to and never give creepypasta a second thought afterward. There's not much interest in the cheese of old creepypasta (AKA "fun") which is sad. It's like a tremendous group of people entered the "fandom", for lack of a better term, and were immediate gatekeeper art-snobs from the start. I want to say this is based on the taste of the hosts, which is of course very similar if not identical. Uninformed, yet authoritative. (Not an insult, being uninformed on a topic you're about to explore is just literally how it works.) It really should've just been a NoSleep podcast. SleepCast, if it isn't taken.

IMHO it really was just the idea of being on the ground floor of something that was being made "for you" in real time. Same reason Image Comics took off at the start, because everyone was excited to read new stories and meet new characters and enter new worlds from young creators. Creepypasta, SCP, NoSleep, even the Backrooms lore, had a sense of not just being something that wanted to reach you, specifically, but it was also open for you to engage with and become a part of. It can be tough to find growing communities like that which are authentically trying to engage with you and not just sell you something. Being part of a fandom without having to actually like any given specific property. On the good side, that meant creators making fun things. On the more questionable side, people "fronting Tiki Toby" and so on. Being horror also helped a lot, since it's always been the most accessible genre. No one sat around campfires telling sci-fi or action stories, the easiest movie genre to spend little on and make your money back is horror, etc. Right place, right time, all the right factors. The name even helped a lot, "creepypasta" sounding so ridiculous that it begged explanation at every turn, lending a greater chance people would then look into it.

Stories being shit actually helped, btw, because it brings a stronger sense of authenticity to everything. Glaring typos, poor story choices, and ridiculous dialogue added way more shares and discussion because "you gotta see this it's hilarious".

I agree it is an annoying excuse but a good one. A lot of youtubers I watch have all had kids within like the last 6 years. It doesn't help their content at all (which come to think of it is really stupid, shouldnt you be working harder so that you have a guranteed income for your kid?). But also, the last thing the world needs are more childless terminally online grifters. So good for them

My theory is that it's because everyone knows reddit style stories suck so they're just wearing the mask of Creepypasta hoping no one notices. Like in the old videos titled Scary Stories where only one story was scary and the rest where all, 🤓"let's not meet again" 🤓.

Horror is also a well that has been drained by youtubers. All the easy topics have been done 10 times. If you want to do something you have to go and research it yourself. And Wendigoon has never been the best at doing his own legwork.

Honestly, it's branding IMHO. CreepCast is such a catchy name that they kept it even though it was already taken on their main platform and they had to pick a different URL handle. "NoSleep" is trademarked, so if you come at it from a corporate angle (the show and both its hosts being incredibly wannabe-corporate) you don't want to associate your name with the pre-existing trademark.

I'm not against people making money online but I feel online horror really went downhill when people realized they could make money off it. No one is really creating unhinged stupid shit anymore. Everything is just so advertiser friendly.

I know as a creator you probably see it differently though.
