Flames erupted on the Brooklyn Bridge as fireworks were being shot from it during Macy’s July 4 display over the East River.

Video shows a plume of smoke emerging from a flaming section of the bridge as fireworks soar and burst around it Saturday night. Two other sections also appeared to burn as the pyrotechnics were being shot from the span.

Everyone woke up sick and it rained for hours and it didn't matter one bit.

We had ribs, sweet corn piled high, loaded baked potatoes, and baked beans. Then strawberry shortcake with gobs of real whipped cream plus red white and blue sprinkles.

There was a beautiful rainbow right before sunset as the families with younger kids were lighting up fireworks before bedtime.

We set off everything we had and wished we'd bought more. In spite of the spitting rain everything went off right, just one dud bottle rocket and an otherwise flawless set. The whole neighborhood was popping off everywhere. 200g and 500g cakes launching from 5 houses at once. Beautiful.

Happy 250th, America. Hope my kids are telling their grandkids about this night in 2076, while they celebrate the 300th.
