Has anyone else experienced a noticeable increase in bizarre or insane behavior in public ever since early April?

I know the world has always been on fire, but hear me out; My coworkers and I have been discussing this because ever since then, we've had tweakers come into our workplace shouting nonsense or other acts of public disturbances. Usually this would happen maybe once a month, but now it's almost a daily occurrence. A friend had some random gay dude approach him at the gym and ask for sexual favors. Today I was followed off the bus and into a building and this man kept asking for my number, where I lived, and took a not-so-discrete photo of me.

Where I live has always been shit, I've been followed home, stalked, had my locks tried, whatever. But never have I ever dealt with so many blatantly weird personalities before. In another situation, last week, I had a random student- a complete stranger- start talking to me about the most bizarre topics to the point where I was wondering if she was schizo. At one point she went "you know how like, guys will have an idea, in their head, like a guide and they try to guide you with that belief..you know..theres like a head, floating...decapitated.." like, what? What?

Today I also had another strange student approach me and ramble on about how he's a fucking orphan, but their guardians died? And he's 34 years old and will quit his job soon after his investments pay off. Kept asking me if I knew what "investments" were or what "financial literacy" was.


There is NO natural build up to these conversations by the way. They just throw that shit out there like a wildcard. What the fuck happened in April. Where are these people coming from.

I don't miss my retail/food service days. Whenever something breaks down at just the wrong time, or a plant supervisor wants a fucking 5 step plan and flowchart to ensure that a problem that happens infrequently and at random and that I have no admin access to related systems never ever happens again. The homeless drug addicts who come in and circle the same area for over 3 hours with their cart of belongings, or run around and ask to sniff the female staff's hair, or walk around and yell profanities are not fun. There was one schizo who was aggressive towards male staff and refused to speak with them, so he'd target female workers. He was 6"2 and had light blue eyes which stood out in contrast to his rugged and worn appearance. He would go on unintelligible rants with an optimistic tone until one day I ran into him and he asked me how I was doing, I said good how about you? He just said "Are you sure?" and stood there staring. I said "yeah I think so?" and he responds with "Are you positive?"

I just walked to go get management because I had a feeling like I was about to be fucking stabbed.

I'm from a whole other continent, so I'm assuming humanity in general is going through a mass psychosis. Crazy things happen, people do crazier stuff than usual, and everything that human interaction is related to goes wrong all the time. According to statistics, criminal activity among local teens has skyrocketed since the beginning of this year. I see a lot of drug addicts as well, I haven't seen one around EVER since I moved to this city almost a decade ago. A few drunkards? Sure. But not drug addicts. This spring and summer specifically there's tons of them roaming the streets and acting really inappropriately in public transport. Even normal looking people seem really... I don't know, I genuinely want to say "possessed." Like I said, it feels like a mass psychosis has started and I can't really explain it by local current day events because my friends from other places talk about similar stuff going on this year specifically.
The weather has been strange too... I haven't seen this city flooded like this before. Neither have I seen landslides, but this year, they're all over the city which is unnatural for this area. Also tornadoes. A massive tornado passed through not so far away and annihilated a huge chunk of the forest, thankfully no buildings were around. Like what is that? The biggest "tornado" I've seen was a small few second swirl of leaves every once in a while during a windy day.
