Making "only" 100k a year off of owning a property when cost of living is like 75k a year isn't horrible.
Yeah it is. You can make more money at a white collar job in a city that isn't circling the drain. If you're netting 100k/yr in family income off rentals, you have probably 20 to 40 renters to deal with.

If that sounds like a great job and easy money, you're probably too young to use this website.

No it isn't when majority of landlords go to the bank for a massive loan, buy property, then rent out that property and pay off the loan with that money, thats not a risk
So why aren't you, personally harvesting all this risk-free income? Strangely, I haven't met a single person who thinks owning rental properties is easy money who also owns rental properties.

The PollsTM have been used to influence public opinion since 2016. They’re no longer reliable
I think that shit has been going on a lot longer than that. Polls are used for a lot of reasons, I will believe with my dying breathe they used them to drive down turnout. They use the them to shape opinion, they use them to wishcast, and they use them to make you think your opinion is the minority.

After 2016 most reasonable people realised how fucked up they were, and the 2024 narrative "KAMALER IS SURGING.. TRUMP HAS NO CHANCE.. BRAT SUMMER!!!" was so clearly fake, they knew it was fake, we knew it was fake, and they knew we knew it was fake. Pollsters are ugly, dumb, and probably finger their dogs. Look at Rich Baris, we all know that guy is a drunken lout that probably eats shit. Nate Silver has, without a doubt, violated some poor goat at a petting zoo.

The thing is a whole generation of retirees has been told their entire lives that the path to "build wealth" is buying properties with no money down and then renting them to the rest of us forever. For 50 years that's been the #1 "get rich doing nothing" program sold to people instead of living within your means and saving. TV commercials, seminars, etc. That along with near-zero interest rates for 25 years created this mess. They don't have 20-40 renters apiece they have 4 or 5 but there are millions of them.

The whole fucking economy post 2008 has been just finding ways to convert borrowed money to real money.

June jobs report released and its awful, worse than expected even with revised downgraded predictions:
Nonfarm payrolls for June increased by a seasonally adjusted 57,000 for the month, slower than the downwardly revised 129,000 added in May and worse than the 115,000 Dow Jones consensus forecast.
The unemployment rate, however, dropped to 4.2%, and slightly ahead of the 4.1% where it was a year ago. The move lower was largely due to a slump in the labor force participation rate, which dropped 0.3 percentage point to 61.5%
The move lower was largely due to a slump in the labor force participation rate, which dropped 0.3 percentage point to 61.5%, the lowest since March 2021. Household employment plummeted during the month, with 507,000 fewer people reported at work. A broader unemployment measure that includes discouraged workers and those holding part-time jobs for economic reasons declined by 0.2 percentage point to 7.9%.
More people are just dropping out of the labor market altogether so unemployment numbers are meaningless. They have been for some time but every month it grows more apparent.
Professional and business services contributed the most, with a gain of 36,000. Social assistance added 25,000 and healthcare employment rose by 22,000, a slower-than-normal pace for the industry. Government jobs rose by 8,000.
Bit interesting the professional and business services added 36,000. Healthcare and social work and government jobs which has been a consistent trend continue to help the jobs economy limp along. Many will attribute the abysmal numbers to the Iran was causing fuel and energy prices to spike, but jobs has been a consistent Achilles' heal for the administration that choses only to define economic health by the stock market.

This report means rate hikes are likely off the table, but will likely remain unchanged until 2027. The administration needs to be paying more attention to jobs because the current policy of "wait and see" isn't working.

Ethnic_Origins_in_New_York_City.png

I don't get why I'm being downvoted, nobody in NYC is white, majority of zoomers and young millenials will never be able to afford property, and rent has skyrocketed.
Rent 10 years ago was $400 for a studio and entry level wages were $11 an hour, at one point entry wages were $11 an hour and rent was 1.6k for that same apartment.
70% of apartment complexes with 25 or more units are owned by corporate entities and LLC's and nearly 60% for 5-24 units. The only place where individuals own the majority of rental properties is 2-4 unit properties. Of those small unit owners like half of them hire professional property managers to manage their property, if the pay is poor and it's super hard work how does that work exactly? Where's the overhead coming from to pay those companies?

Ignoring that rent and property prices have gone up drastically because a progressive is also whining about it on reddit doesn't make you based, it just alienates the zoomer and young millenial demographics and it passes up the opportunity to give actual solutions.
If you ignore a problem but the opposition doesn't, even if their solution is garbage some people may go "well atleast they're talking about it," thats the problem. There is a reason communism is again on the rise and thats part of it. They use the problems which one side isn't willing to address and sell a solution (like rent control) that only serves to further themselves rather than offer actual help.

This is a bit off topic and a bit of a PL but Ive been going down the Clarence Thomas Rabbithole after the dissent thing. Im almost moved to tears by the guy, I grew up in a very similar environment to him in school and college, where your peers fucking hate your guts, think youre a no good loser whos gonna do jackshit and youre isolated to death. I still find myself in a similar environment today and its just a life of anguish, equivalent to smoking 10 packs a day wishing youd die but instead choking on the smoke. Hes one of the first people Ive seen who has said "fuck that, Im gonna become so big that I can sock the jaws of those through sheer will and achievements and Im actually gonna put the effort in". Ive never thought I could have the will for it cause people are difficult to handle, especially in certain environments and even if youre an introvert or a contrarian or whatever, that kind of segregation from the pack hurts you and kills your will, even if you have the greatest family in the world which I do. Seeing the guy really lit a fire under my ass and I really want to be like that. He seems like just a genuinely good person who works his ass off, even if I dont know him personally with all the allegations scandals and whatever. That dissertation is a really good piece of writing even if I dont understand half of it and Americans should consider themselves lucky that theyve still got people like that in politics. You would never see a court justice in Europe or Asia cite a Rothbard or a Cromwell or a Locke for proving a point, itd just be "Understood the Assignment"s all over.

Seems as thought Hindu Supremacists are attacking the US population once again. This time using the same tactics the Ranshejee cult did in 1984, a bioterror attack. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_Rajneeshee_bioterror_attack)

Mystery of Explosive Diarrhea Parasite Outbreak in the US

A dangerous parasite is spreading across the US. People are experiencing painful explosive diarrhea because of it. Scientist are still trying to identify the source...

India Spreading Illness in USA.gif

Kiwifarmers will see the pattern pretty clearly. It's just starting to spread so I suspect Cali and Washington will be hit soon.

I'd recommend avoiding anything touched by a pajeet, cooked by a pajeet or delivered by a pajeet until this latest bioterror attack ends.

This illness spreads through fecal matter so Pajeets are the prime vector.

The best way to combat the spread of this illness is to practice basic hygiene, something a few millennia too advanced for Pajeets to understand.

Stay safe this holiday weekend. Pajeets are trying to poison you with their ass-parasite-brothers.

Somewhat related to jobs, I went to a theme park recently and a large portion of the rides were shut down due to lack of staff, including some of the most popular rides. It's prime summer job season and there just aren't many people willing to work it seems.

Fixed for reality.
