Does intent not matter in soccer rulings, especially with replay assistance now?
Causing serious injury to another player whether intentionally or not is still considered a red card offense its been a rule for a really really really long ass time

Using the studs of your boots to hit a player's leg is considered reckless too tbh you're not supposed to do that at all
ontop of red cards next game suspension already being retarded. -1 player is already harsh enough, for next game/opponent to benefit from it is stupid faggotry.
Evendoe I do agree that this rule is retarded but it's kinda necessary to discourage foul play just look at the games from the 60s and 70s players were out there breaking legs and get no consequences for it

It wasn't even a red card on the field, the ref had to go review the footage then upgraded it from no card penalty free kick > red card. Also, what injury nigger? The bosniafag kept playing after he got stepped on. If spikes of the cleats contacts body is "reckless" - then redcard that shit every time, just be consistent. Or soccer needs to grow the fuck up and take advantage of being 20~ years late with technology and look at intention when they're stopping play to go look at the video. If someones takeaway that it was a reckless, dangerous play, and not incidental & accidental, I don't know what to tell you. They're probably the same faggots who don't see an issue with having to watch ridiculous amount of flops every game.

I don't expect embellishment and attempts to sell a call for an advantage to ever be solved or removed from sports. However, I don't know how you faggots deal with watching someone, 10+ times a game, tumble and roll around in absolute agony like they just broke a limb or got shot by a sniper, only to get up and suddenly be perfectly fine as soon as play resume - with no consequences and the replay showing that a stiff breeze from a missed tackle apparently caused it all.

Ok whatever, I'm done sperging about it. It's all been beaten to death already, and no one should really cares what a fair-weather burger "fan" take is anyways. I just want USA to keep advancing, or win the whole thing so 3rd world browns seethe. When they lose, I can break free from 'world cup fever' and go back to not giving a shit about soccer. That said, USA needs to win so Null is forced to change this thread from Futbol to Soccer, and site wide word filter out all futbol/footie/everything to soccer for 4 years.

Watching all the brown people online throwing hissy fits because USMNT isn't complete dogshit this year is hilarious. They're calling everyone who doesn't think the red card was deserved "casuals." One guy I saw even compared the slow-mo of the red card to a live leak gore video.

Shit like this is why soccer will never be a major sport in America. No matter how many brown people we import or how much winning the USMNT does. No one wants to go from watching a Defensive End blow up a play in the backfield and hit a player so hard his helmet flies off, (ala Jadeveon Clowney) or see a pitcher huck a rock solid ball of leather at 100 MPH directly at a batters head or watch 2 hockey players literally fist fight on the ice, to watching a game where someone accidentally steps on the back of someones shoe then suddenly your team is permanently disadvantaged. Only to have a "true fan" of the sport tell you that, if you dont like it, then you just simply dont understand the sport.

I hope USA wins the world cup and we start forcing everyone to call it soccer. Honestly invading a country because they won't call the sport "soccer" is better than doing it just because Israel said we should do it.

lmao, Germany and Netherlands knocked out in the Round of 32 while USA advances?
What is happening...
German and dutch NTs have painfully declined since 2018 a lot of important players who were integral to their success in the previous years have either retired or they're past their prime like Neuer for example and the newest generation of players aren't really that impressive interms of quality and competitive drive

It's the risk of injury which counts in a red card not whether the player gets injured or not. Hitting a player with your studs can cause legit serious injuries I'm speaking from experience from playing as I have gotten injured before from similar tackles

As for diving or flopping it is a yellow card offense but the issue is the refs don't have the balls to call it out most of the time. I'm in favour of getting soft penalties or soft fouls removed from the sport completely

The issue with VAR is that completely undermines the decision of on field referee without letting him decide or have a say in the matter, the VAR should help the on field ref to make decisions not decide for him plus making the VAR decide for things like intent and have to go through every frame autistically will just drastically increase the time to check disrupting the flow of the game.
