It is an interesting thought experiment, in a way - the accusations against Nick came from within the bubble, so they're considered more trustworthy by those they're meant to reach.

Meanwhile, Mombot's fabricated screenshots came from a place where those meant to give a shit came from a place that distrusts them at best and hates them at worst - yet they STILL ate it up. Better yet, those are the ones that ended up being the most vicious against him despite the screenshots coming from a dirty gaymurgayter. Most what I saw from people that already didn't like him was that they thought he was a pathetic weirdo.

Ideally, though, Mombot should've collaborated this with someone else beforehand so that the one hit with the accusation knew what they were in for.

I'm pretty sure Nick would be getting death threats and knife photos, only speculating from what I've seen of people mentioning him on public Twitter. All 9volt's public reactions were feet jokes and "I don't know if I can trust mombot".
 
I'm pretty sure mombot chose feet pics because it's not sexually graphic, which would then make it illegal to fake. Also, how would this ruin 9volt's career if he doesn't have one.

I gotta disagree with that one. I think faking DMs to prove the point of "lol you dumbasses will believe any bullshit you read if you can crucify someone over it" is a pretty good point to prove. I think making it obviously satirical is the better way to go about it, but hey.
 
I wonder if she was planning to reveal that the DMs were fake from the start or if this was one of those situations were not enough people took the bait and rather than ride things out she just turned it into a "social experiment" as a backup.
 
Convincing girls to send you nudes isn't even fun if they're only doing it to get something in return (Other than getting some dick in return, I mean.)

If they were really concerned about him being a dangerous harasser to the point that they've dissasociated with him from everything you'd think they'd want the public to know exactly what he's capable of. Besides acting like a tumblr user who makes "my flirting skills are on the level of potatoes" posts. Not to say that he couldn't have gotten into some shit that they don't want to make public, but their complete refusal to show any proof and how weak the proof they did show is doesn't do them any favors.

holy shit is mombot autistic or what? idgaf about 9volt, but to fake up all these DMs against an unrelated party in order to . . . discredit pretty much no one? the only DM screencaps of Nick Robinson were just awkward flirting and not anything truly damning. what is the fucking point

It's outside of the standards for a SJW gamejourno, Nick Robinson is a SJW gamejourno. Everyone of them, including Nick himself would be a hypocrite for not denouncing him based on the assumption that souIspear is telling the truth.

I wouldn't have done what Nick had done based on the age difference, let alone the fact that this person is basically a groupie. We can say "oh well rappers fuck whoever the fuck all the time and no one says shit", but SJWs (or even more traditional feminists) have near zero power in the rap industry (not that they haven't tried, and even gained a little in the last few years). Not to mention groupies seem to line up, whereas this person got unsolicited DMs.

Plus normal people denounce certain bands who take it too far, especially when they're oriented towards underage girls, like Blood on the Dance Floor.
