In all my years of using RYM I never really understood the point of his "RYM Ultimate Boxset" lists, the site's chart function renders them completely redundant.
The Box Set specifically for film genres were decent, sometimes better than the site's charts that are not finished yet.

Taken from the RYM Ultimate Box Set thread. Highlights another thing I've always found annoying about RYM: when they ban users who have popular lists they do nothing about preserving the lists for whatever reason. In this case I'm going to bet they'll make an exception though.

Another thread at the RYM Forum regarding that. The Box Set is still not back online as of writing.

Shawn has locked his profile on All The Fallen and hidden his online status:

His most recent post on the site was on June 16, 2026. This amount of inactivity is unusual considering that he was making multiple posts daily before this:

It looks like he may be thinking of leaving ATF permanently, since he has also renamed his AI art thread from "Flatsim's Fantastic AI Fumblings" to "Farewell from Flatsim's Fantastic AI Fumblings". He has not given any explanation for why this was done:

Back on his Freewave YouTube channel, 2 people asked Shawn why he was banned from RYM. He claims to have "no idea":

Some other RYM users have a pretty good idea though:

I just noticed his Inseminator account of the same name does still show his real age. I'm guessing he either couldn't log in to change it or will do so after he reads this post.
Aaand he changed the details :story:

Again, below is an archive of what the page looked like before, that he can't remove:

Interestingly, that just so happens to be the date he changed his Inseminator profile details.
Hi Shawn! How was work?
Oh, and you posted drawn CP on June 17th.

I use RYM regularly, and ONLY NOW have I found out that this guy was responsible for the RYM box set. That explains why it suddenly disappeared.

I'm sick to my stomach knowing that he got banned because he's a pedophile, and also him being a (now former) janny on ATF. Also, adding to the cherry on top, his Sonemic interview got wiped, further showing that the ban is likely permanent and intentional by the RYM admins.

It does fucking suck though that the box set was a collaborative effort by other longtime RYM users (hopefully not trooned out or pedos) and all of the hard work over the years went to waste as soon as Shawn got banned off RYM. It just proves that one man's selfishness and ill (or, in this case, downright evil) intent can bring down the efforts of a well-meaning project.

I'm also surprised that his wife hasn't up and left him yet over this and also taken the kids, if she hasn't yet. All the horrifying shit in this thread is a direct pointer to divorce proceedings and custody status all in favor for the mother. Just disgusting.

Shawn Cooper has been fired from RingCentral. It sounds like someone contacted his employer with information on what he was up to.

brah c'mon how can you do that zoom at the end and NOT put in the Curb Your Enthusiasm music?

I am more surprised that HR actually did their job.
From my experience in these things:
HR is using this as an excuse not a reason. He was already on their radar.

You could feel the fear in his veins as he immediately began to delete and change everything over the course of the thread. Suffer, pedofag.

When I say this, I’m not advocating for anyone to do anything; I am curious as to if his wife knows, or if anyone in his family knows. I wonder if the police in Denver have been tipped off? If he were just posting lolifag shit, it’d be one thing. He’s 100% guilty of sharing and downloading real CSAM, though. I would be very surprised if this didn’t leak further into his personal life, especially considering the Facebook posts. How could you do this to your family? Sick fuck. I hope they kick his door in and take every hard drive he’s got.

Your faith in the family courts (especially in a libtard paradise like fucking Denver) to do the right thing for a woman and her kids vs. a self-admitted pedophile is ... regrettably misplaced to say the least. If she files for divorce and tries for full custody they'll probably throw her in perma-prison for transphobia and make her watch them troon her kids out surgically right then and there in the courtroom.

HR had an easy choice to make.

:drink:

I'm going to cover this as quickly as I'm able:
Soure: I have been ... tangentially-but-close-enough-get-a-solid-look-the-sausage-making involved in terminations before, including a couple of "internal tribunals" to review cases before they moved to HR action.

This dude was a computer toucher with 6 years on the job. As we saw from the Debian Rapist, most companies will circle wagons around a non-public facing non-convicted chomo because unless its directly job related, firing someone just for things on personal time is a grounds for a unlawful termination lawsuit. Add to that, if the person is a non-troublesome employee hitting their numbers and otherwise a good fit for the company you are not going to let a person go on just the word of random internet people because replacing them sucks.

The common thing for these matters is to start building the case for firing them or otherwise encourage them to leave on their steam.
A very common way this plays out is HR sits you down for a come-to-jesus: You have the choice of getting a hefty severance, PTO paid out, paid for two weeks notice, and your termination classed as "Redundant position" or "reduction in force" - meaning the company will make no objections to you claiming unemployment + cobra qualification OR they can fire you for cause, you can contest and maybe win but it'll take a couple years for your case to make it through the courts and probably at the end you wind up settling for what they are offering you right now but minus legal fees.

The other common way it plays out is they will lean on your manager to set you up for failure. Worst shifts, PTO requests denied, scheduled to work holidays and weekends, etc. Anything you fail to do to the exact letter of corporate policy will get you written up, so when they do fire you there is copious evidence of your failure to meet expectations.

The other way it goes down is that you were already a shitbird, a case was already being built, and now they have a solid reason to jack you up. A judge is much less likely to require exhaustive proof that someone was not being singled out for employment action when the HR complaint includes "Oh and BTW they were jacking it to child porn linked to their real name so reputation damage".

And I guess the final way it goes down is HR looks at you and finds some extreme no-no stuff that wasn't caught because they weren't looking. That one was fun. Some manager who was hitting his numbers was cranking it out to beastiality porn with his work computer on the clock. He was being investigated for a completely unrelated matter, but when they pulled his network history.... yowza. He was terminated within hours of the desktop team coming back with what he was looking at and when.
edit: The utterly mind blowing thing about the guy spanking it to dogfucking was he was a well-liked and competent manager, no complaints and all his performance reviews were above-average. They only looked at his web history because he was scope-adjacent in an e-discovery case. He would have still had his job if he had just slapped it to white girls fucking dogs on his own personal laptop or phone. we had a guest wifi network.

The fact dude went DFE tells me he was called in and had a damn good idea what it was about.

Informed speculation:
this chomo was an "SRE Surveilance Analyst/NOC Analyst". SRE is Site Reliability Engineer/Expert, NOC is Network Operations Center. That is, bro drives out to the datacenter and watches logs and alerts all day. This is not exactly a physically or mentally demanding job, but it usually involves shitty hours and being chained to your desk. Its usually you and one other person, and you both have to coordinate so one of you is immediately available at all times - you have to coordinate meals, bathroom, and god forbid one of you calls out sick, so there is decent odds of needing to work doubles or get a call-in with little notice.
There is usually some computer touching work/alarm resolution that goes on. You might be called on to do "smart hands and feet" but that's usually not what the SRE analyst is doing. Mostly they would be just be watching for problems in the datacenter and POSSIBLY making reports on hardware/network performance.

What I'm trying to covey is that if someone is doing this job for 6 years, that means you've found someone who adapted to the unique working environment and you do NOT just toss them to the side because of internet weirdos given the trouble of finding a replacement (or more accurately, screening out the people who simply can't hack it).
HOWEVER, given the whole purpose an SRE Analyst has a job is to watch monitors and be ready to jump on an alert - if a server fails or starts to fail, you need to be on that shit immediately - this means you are not kept very busy so you are ready to jump on that shit. This leads to a lot of down time and a lot of dicking around on the internet. So my guess is that Shawn was cranking it out to loli on the clock, possibly drawing loli on the clock, and this is going to give the employer grounds to move on immediate dismissal for cause.
edit: That's also probably why he had time to currate playlists

And again, that's provided he wasn't already on their radar for non-loli reasons. The difficulty in finding people who can do the job and not lose their shit is insane. (One job, I was talking to the datacenter manager and said one of his graph watchers, after 3 years on the job, just stood up in the middle of a shift and said "I can't do this anymore" and walked out. The confinement, comparative isolation, and often being on the night shift does things to people's brains) So that means the company will often try to rehabilitate or otherwise give people who have proven they can handle the job to course-correct before moving to termination.

Or in otherwords:
Who ever filed that report with HR, you were the spark that hit the tinderbox. I salute you.

Glorious :story:

Did he try telling them they were drawings and thus, not real children? Maybe while holding up a poorly cropped picture of naked Megumin with a smug expression? I was under the impression that the overwhelming majority of normal people are super duper totally fine with pedophilia as long as you show them a poorly cropped picture of naked Megumin. Is this not the case?

You can still reach the Box Set threads and related through internet archive if you are interested, some of the subpages weren't created by TheScientist so they're still up as well. I got these two snapshots for the main threads:

Also, adding to the cherry on top, his Sonemic interview got wiped, further showing that the ban is likely permanent and intentional by the RYM admins.
Some snippets of his sonemic interview can also be found with wayback machine:

I managed to get a summary through some AI mental gymnastics (nothing except "sonemic thescientist interview" was used as prompt) since it still has the transcript in its database but there might be some hallucinations, so take it with a grain of salt:

Opening / who he is. TheScientist introduces himself as a member known offsite as Freewave, on RYM since 2004. He notes the irony that music wasn't really part of his life as a teenager — it wasn't a big factor growing up, options were limited back then, and he had no sense of how central it would become or how much its absence had shaped his earlier years.

The Denver years. Things changed for him in college in Denver, Colorado, where he became a regular at used CD stores, feeding roughly a $30-a-week habit digging through the bins. That grew into working at a CD store, going out to nightclubs, meeting his wife, and taking up DJing on the side. The fun had a cost, though — weekends downtown, hauling his own gear, working through snowstorms — and the grind wore thin fairly quickly.

Finding RYM and becoming "the list guy." Like everyone, he found the internet reshaped how he discovered and collected music. On RYM he became known as the list person, in a looser, more free-flowing era of the site. His early lists leaned genre-focused, and he always carved out time to explore and write about what he loved or stumbled onto. Underneath it was a compulsion to collect and catalog everything he came across — a kind of diary of sound. A career in IT plus a wife who shared his love of music gave him the time to make it possible. After about five years of listing, collecting live bootlegs, and running a lot of music blogs, a 2009 conversation kicked around the idea of a collaborative virtual "box set" project — a user effort to map out the essential artists, albums, and even key tracks for every genre.

Spearheading the RYM Ultimate Box Set. He jumped on it and never looked back, keeping the project alive through family life and his own music-making with a rotating crew of volunteers. This is where his research philosophy crystallized — figuring out where to find the best information, how to use sources well, working through genres chronologically, and building guides that defined them. A guiding principle was to show how a genre developed rather than just tell, leaning on well-chosen quotes that reveal something about the music. He points out that the project surfaced many genres on RYM before they were widely recognized, moving them along the pipeline from set, to queue, to officially approved genre — making the sets useful groundwork for future genre submissions. Over time he came to see the lines between genre, scene, movement, and concept as a minor distinction, since they're all just shorthand for a slice of musical history and a shared approach.

Where things stood that year. He describes a renewed focus on the project, with his wife and kids alongside him — helped by a good new job with more free time and less stress, and by having fully come through a long battle with depression, which made a real difference. He mentions staying active with regular tweets, a new blog portal, and better contact with collaborators on Discord. By then the project had passed 1,200 genre sets and around 1,600 discs of music, with the blog making it all easier to browse, and an ongoing push toward a YouTube and Spotify playlist for every set. He closes with thanks to everyone who'd contributed past and present, framing it as a genre guide that bests just about anything else online and a beacon for music lovers — a place to find more of what one likes, learn its history, and discover what one hasn't even encountered yet.

The set picks (5 his + 5 others). This is the section the fragments cover only partly, so treat it as incomplete:

Of his own sets, two are clear. In his Disco set he highlighted Cerrone's Supernature (Cerrone 3) — a known classic that he felt remained underappreciated and underplayed in the US, praising both the synthetic title cut and the more organic "Give Me Love" as elegant and innovative, and using it to show how attuned the French have long been to disco, house, and electro. He also featured his Synthwave set, describing it as a genre that won him over for having one foot in the past and one in the future.

Of the five sets by others, three are recoverable: Japanese Vanguard by phthora (his condensed companion to the Japanese Vanguard/Underground guide, a roughly 7-disc tour across about a dozen genres, with Kazumoto Endo flagged as a great alternative entry point to Japan's noise scene beyond Merzbow); Doom Metal by TheTrickster (one of the project's earliest contributors from 2009, an 8-disc set with detailed notes that he called a standout monument to the genre, alongside TheTrickster's Death, Black, and Thrash guides); and Tribal Ambient & Ritual Ambient by Xaman_.

From seeing other Nonces;
the wife knew. Its not a surprise. She knew and didn't care because she got what she needed from the relationship. She will deflect, deny, downplay and cope, in general do whatever it takes to avoid needing to disrupt her life or world view.
"Its not his fault, that gradschooler seduced him"

The chomo can only commit one or both of two unforgivable crimes to get his partner to turn on him:
The first is no longer give her what she wants from the relationship and (this is key) no hope of it returning. The stereotype is of the battered shrinking violet, but plenty of women a feeling of assurance or control from having a partner who diddles kids. They know he can't leave them for those children, and even if he finds one that does capture his attention unduly, in a couple of years they'll have grown too old for his tastes and he'll come back.
Some others feel control, knowing his dirty secret and they can ruin him, and making sure he's at least tacitly aware of that fact. And again, the abuse victims are no "threat" to her, he isn't going to divorce her and run off with a 13-year old.

Second is to be give her no hope of deniability. This one is harder than you think. A woman who's husband abused something like a dozen boys 7-10 with solid proof - as in, he was caught in the act by his last victim's parents - gave the excuse, paraphrased "well, they came on to him, it wasn't his fault". A large number of MOTHERS blame their daughters for their abuse with "she was just trying to get back at me". (and, without excusing the chomo to be clear, sometimes they aren't wrong; teens, especially older teens sometimes just want to break up the relationship with stepdad with this one weird trick. but when its an 8-10 year old....)
But if something happens such they are forced to confront the reality they've been denying (that is usually when they are facing an accessory charge and the detectives and police psychologist have the time to really go to work on them) only then will they give up.
So given it looks like he never touched an physical child, and its all internet drama, I don't think he's getting divorce anytime soon.

He had AI material he made himself of parents abusing their twin children that looked like his twin children, right?

I know I'm being :optimistic: , but I really hope she didn't know and that she will do something about it now

Look she married a brony. There is no way she didn't know kiddie diddling was going to be part and parcel of the relationship.

"Well see he DIDN'T touch our kids and obviously its all just a misunderstanding. He's really very sorry and things got out of controll. Its all the fault of the people he was hanging around with online, they corrupted him. He says he will stop being part of those communities..."

I don't know if it helps but he did say he works from home. While listening to pedo music.

Maybe he was just crappy at his job and the pedo stuff was the straw that broke the camels back.
He did say his wife doesn't know (yet).

And I would believe that. There are countless pedos that hide their actions from their partners, it might even be the norm.

Yes, he's into daddies abusing their girls and twins.

This is the character that he's talking about.
