Can the administration just focus on jobs and the economy? I hate communists but this message only resonates with boomers, not young people or independents. Young people don't fear communists and in-fact, embrace them because they see them as the solution to the wealth inequality and cost of living crisis currently in America. For these people, capitalism has failed them and they can't buy a house or start their lives. Screaming about Red Scare 2.0 does nothing to motivate the people republicans need to win the midterms. Trump gambled and lost of Iran regarding inflation and now doesn't know or care how to fix it because 'stock market up six gorillion points'. In order for capitalism to succeed, you need to show people that it can produce a life and currently thats not happening when companies outsource fast food jobs and white collar positions to jeets.
At this point we can safely assume that Trump has given up and is just letting Democrats rape MAGA to death for the next century. President Newsom or AOC in 2028 followed by President Mamdani.

Bird shot won't kill a person unless you shove that barrel down their throat. There have been hundreds of hunting accidents where people were shot with bird shot from just a few feet away and survived. Human muscle and flesh stop bird shot easily. Dick cheney shot a man in the face with bird shot at 20 feet and the man lived.

All of this ignores the fact that for home defense the best legal proof is a dead intruder that's bled out well over the threshold.
If you shot someone without the intent to kill them, for one, that's just retarded, and for two, it suggests you shot them for reasons other than stopping them dead because you thought they were a deadly threat.
Why not just intentionally use a less lethal weapon at that point that they sell for this purpose? But even then, if someone is breaking into a house knowing people are likely home, they're non-risk averse and incredibly dangerous and should be put down as quickly as possible. No point putting them through court and risking them getting out and escalating to even worse crimes.
It's not pleasant but if someone breaks into your home when people are clearly there (night time, cars out front if a house, etc) they entered knowing they might have to kill someone. If someone does that they're a deadly threat and need to be shot. If you're going to shoot someone shoot them dead.

Preach. Far better shooters than me swear by them but I don't like dot sights, it feels harder to "balance" for me than 3 dot if that makes since. Also I think they look stupid as fuck from the side when held. Obviously that shouldn't matter but to me it does, it just doesn't look like something that will fit smoothly in a holster.

They're fine as an option, and I'd consider one on a home-full size even. But having them on an IWB is something I'll probably never do. Rifles and so on sure.
The silliest to me is putting them on shotguns. Even ghost sights on those are a bit goofy but ok with slugs. I've seen people like hickok45 complain about the tiny internal safeties on revolvers as being unseeming and so on, and frankly I don't mind those. It's not a 'bad thing' to me to use one of those and throw the thing in a glove compartment if you're going to someplace impossible to conceal (metal detector zone or a doctor where you might have to disarm).
I just don't think there's any real scenario where you'd need one for a CCW situation. Most of the ones I've heard that were from non-totally trained barely looked at the sights. I guess if you' have failing vision they might be fine, but again, it seems like a fad. But like rails, gun fads tend be hard to catch on but when they do, they never go away.
