The suspect in a fatal library shooting in California on Monday has been identified as 18-year-old Bradley Scott Sayer of Chico, according to officers.

The Chico Police Department said Sayer opened fire in the Butte County Library around 5:12 p.m. on Monday, killing two people and injuring a minor. The injured minor was being treated at hospital Tuesday, and is expected to recover.
Sayer was taken into custody only moments after the first shots were fired. He was booked into the Butte County Jail for two open counts of murder.
An investigation into Monday’s shooting determined that Sayer acted alone and aimed to “commit a Columbine High School massacre type of shooting,” police said. CPD said there was no indication he had any prior relationship or connection to any of the victims in the library.
The FBI confirmed early Tuesday morning that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
“Our thoughts are with the victims and their families,” reads a statement from the agency. “FBI Sacramento will continue to support the Chico Police Department as their investigation continues.”
Library officials sent their condolences to those affected by the shooting in a statement on social media Monday night.
“We are aware of the tragic incident that occurred today at the Chico Branch of the Butte County Library and extend our deepest condolences to everyone affected, including the victims, their loved ones, library staff, and all those impacted by this heartbreaking incident,” the post said.
The library will remained closed Tuesday as the Chico Police Department, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate the shooting.

Columbine happened during Internet 1.0 and a lot of the initial reporting was shitty and lazy.
It took a while for a lot of the details to come out and people who weren't actively following the story wouldn't have known about the corrections on the initial stuff.

The most fucked up thing about all this is that the Columbine High School shooting didn't end with Eric and Dylan pulling the trigger in the library. Journos have blood in their hands.
