“Intersex” is one of those political newspeak terms being used to intentionally muddy the waters. The original intention of the label was to not pathologize people born with these traits. Given the history of babies with ambiguous-looking genitals being given unnecessary “corrective” surgeries way too young, I can understand the sentiment. But in reality these are medical issues that will eventually need addressing because they can cause everything from debilitating hormone imbalances to cancer.
The more accurate term for this group of conditions is “disorders of sexual development” (DSDs). And yes, DSDs are also sex-specific, you literally have to be either male or female to be affected by certain conditions. They are errors within the binary framework, not a new third sex or some kind of mixture of the two. Most people with DSDs don’t base their entire identity around it and live otherwise normal lives.
Trannies have hijacked it to prop up their own narrative of course, so now you have them trying to claim that literally any sort of medical issue connected to hormones or sex organs (like PCOS) is proof that sex is not binary (therefore men in dresses should be allowed in the girls’ locker room).
