I'm not saying this because I want to see it, but I would really love if that payloader had some kind of dashcam for insurance purposes and it just immediately disproves everything Nick says.

With these large construction or agricultural vehicles, if they are at a dead stop and waiting for you to pass, they may release the brake and start accelerating before you reach their position, so that they overcome the interia from being stationary.

I’m guessing the payloader driver did this and it freaked Nick out because he was fucking with his phone and not paying continuous attention to the payloader. So he panicked when he could have avoided hitting it.

In my mind he was screaming “Noooo!!” the same way he screamed “Noooo!!” when he showed his Early Leopard Reddit handle onscreen.

It didn't dent the bucket because it's thick steel, but I'd be surprised if it didn't mess up the hydraulics and the arms, even if it just bent them slightly. His tall tale about going the speed limit and hitting the breaks would have to be true. Heavy equipment is not cheap and neither are the parts or the labor to repair them.

This is what gets me. Nick has said nothing to explain how he was even within 30 yards of hitting this extremely slow-moving, conspicuous-by-design construction equipment that he should have spotted at least a quarter mile away.
