I think it's dumb to think anything said on any social media platform is "in confidence," especially tied to your actual identity, but there's nuance there. I don't expect messages with a potential employer to be shared to the world, let alone with any identifying information, for example. That doesn't mean it can't happen at any point, even retroactively.
