A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

The British state's surveillance is first and foremost reactive. They gather the information so that they can use it against anyone who becomes a problem. If you are a named person causing them embarrassment or gathering support; or if you are anonymous but still gathering support, then you get noticed and only then does the gathered information against you become relevant. Lucy Connolly's crime wasn't that she said she didn't care if the migrant hotels were set fire to. Her crime was people agreeing with her. The British state knows that even angry humans look to a focal point or leader to direct them. And they are well practiced at identifying them early and dealing with them. One way or another.

I'm not even convinced they do that much to proactively go after the really horrendous online crimes. I think they mostly just sit on it trying to get even more information in perpetuity. Look at Pagliacci' the hated's list of judges letting off paedophiles:

There's no need to speculate about the British state's priorities. They are evidenced.

So yes, the State tries to gather every drop of information and strip every bit of anonymity from you that it is able. But it does it so that the day you stand up and say "the government is doing something bad", or the moment you get a hundred retweets for saying so, they can drag you off to a cell for something.

Criminalise widely, enforce selectively, has been a tool of authoritarianism throughout history.

And they don't need a conviction either, because the process is the punishment.

Have you been letting them know how you've been hearing that a lot more lately? They might like to know they aren't alone as they might think.
Yes, I definitely have, because it is the least I can do....they've trusted me by saying things or expressing feelings that are somewhat verboten, so I tell them that more and more people are saying similar things. The phrase "Supporting Our Local Community" has become a kind of a code for this kind of sentiment, and I'm absolutely here for it.

Small note on safety.
Use a phone that has no sim on a WiFi hotspot. Have your vpn/tor on a simless phone.

Think about it. No network connection outside of the tunnel.

I tried to advice this on the internet sub a year or so ago and people deliberately miss quoted it saying yes we should keep the sim in the phone. Which misses the point.

Like others said the phone network can read everything you’re doing. What if there’s no network?

A thread on connecting to the Farms from the UK sounds like a good idea.
I used TOR during the Fong times and now I have a VPN but when our cunt ridden government takes the next step I'm going to be out of ideas. Half the people on here seem to be full on autastic nerds who talk in WiFi packets or something but there's a few of us who could use advice on breaking the future laws.

not at thirty fucking quid a kilo I'm not
Cheese pauper. Start a GFM? You can’t stay a Tesco value cheese block scoffer all your life. Everyone should experience the joy of excellent cheese in their lives.

Cheese popped up in one of my toilet ponderings t’other day. Not only ‘why don’t Asian people (the Japanese neck of the woods type) eat much dairy, but then on to ‘actually, cheese is pretty minging when you think about it (but it tastes fucking amazing). It’s curdled milk left to go hard. That’s fucking rank. I chuck curdled milk away, never mind sticking it in a dishcloth and hanging it up in my coal shed for six months to see what happens.

Then again, chicken nuggets and burgers are pretty vile when you know how they’re made, so perhaps the moral of the story is that ignorance really is bliss.

They're incapable of catching up to room temperature IQ wogs bank-transferring their zakat direct to ISIS, the prospect they'd be capable of doing literally anything to inhibit our sneeding by their own motion is optimistic in the extreme.
Not incapable, unwilling. As @Overly Serious said, the police are busy waiting for Mr Big to pop up, so they ignore all the lower level crimes. Like porn addicts they’re now busy ignoring kids being raped and well-known drug dealers and burglars because they believe letting them do their thing will lead them to ‘the boss’. Meanwhile, there’s no help for the kids being abused, the locals having their homes broken into, and aggressive cuntfaces threatening anyone who sets eyes on them because they think selling drugs makes them hard.

Then people wonder why the police don’t attend for things like burglaries and car thefts any more. If the recent ‘protests’ have shown anything, it’s that the police are powerless. They only act when it suits them, if it’s a nailed-on guaranteed nick. Otherwise the paperwork is too much. Raped kid? Too much paperwork, sorry, must’ve asked for it. Granny got mugged? Don’t walk around with your pension, luv.

I want to believe the police are good, because someone has to be able to sort this shit out. However, experience has almost always proved that hope to be misplaced.

Goths on suicide watch.
No change there, then.

Orbot works fine on iPhones.
I cannot get that bloody thing to work. It hates my VPN, and turning my VPN off to use Orbot instead is intolerably slow. It’s more than likely user error, but I do wonder what ai’m doing wrong. Orbot worked fine before I had my VPN set up.

I currently use OrNet browser and it’s great, apart from the 10-second ad every time you load it up.

Agreed, but it would automatically mean whoever posted it (and Null, for hosting it on his site) is a big fat terrorist for trying to chuck a spanner in the works of governmental overreach.

Would probably need sections for each phone or browser, too. Maybe. I don’t understand this shit either. Packets are what pasta comes in. Not seeing any of that near my wifi box. Maybe I need to build a pasta packet wall to keep the government from seeing what I’m doing.

(I simply assume they have access to everything I say via the internet. Hope they enjoy reading my bullshit drivel. Could be watching the World Cup, mateys, but here you are having to read the endless waffling of a bored old bag. It’s like tea with your racist aunt but less fun (and less cake). Sucks to be a spy.

Have we reached the point where China is a more free country than the Yoo Kay?
I wouldn’t go that far, we aren’t harvesting prisoner organs just yet (I think…)
It’s a different flavour of tyranny. In china the rules are set out for you, you obey them and you’ll be more or less left alone. Here the rules aren’t set out and can change day by day. China works for china, and the Han Chinese. It has a chink supremacy view which is bad if you’re not Chinese but they aren’t actively destroying their own culture. Our government hates the natives, essentially they’re globalists trying to kill is all.
Neither is free, neither is ideal, and we are living through a particularly odd bit of history.
I do t see it changing without serious social upheaval on a continent wide scale. People have said things comparing it to the way communism ended in some countries but that wasn’t such a globally enforced and aligned thing. This IS, and u til the power balance shifts dramatically, it’s not going to change much.
Something very nasty will happen, a big war, a huge natural disaster, and it will force change because all this crap is luxury beliefs writ large

What the fuck are they doing? There is absolutely no reason for this monstrous behaviour. I suspected there was something wrong with these high-vis biodrones when I'd see videos of them robotically rattling off utter shit during the coof and completely ignoring the whole social distancing thing while fining someone for not social distancing. This goes way beyond that.
'I'm confiscating that.' So you can cover up what an utter bastard you are? Go back to hell.

Leftist faggot acquaintance on fakebook is bragging about chasing the fash out of Brighton yesterday, even boasting he injured his back when an officer pushed him over a table...
Getting your back blown out while you're bent over a table? Common issue in Brighton, so I hear. Fascists sure are aggressive around those parts!

I reckon it'll be total economic collapse due to net zero-induced energy costs and shortage. It's known in the corridors of power that the current paradigm is already dead, despite still shuffling along. They're trying to find ways to walk it back without having the green mob come for their heads; just yesterday, Starmer finally grew a pair and overrode Milliband's demand for 90% of car sales to be electric by 2030. He knocked it down to 50%, which is still retarded, but it's the first serious push-back against the net zero madness I've seen in this country. And no surprise, Mad Ed is now in talks to retain his cabinet post in the event that Andy Burnham gets in and overthrows Starmer; Burnham is reportedly seriously considering it, because he's a fucking retard.

Problem is, even if everything was rolled back tomorrow, the structural issues net zero has introduced have already ripped the foundations out of the economy. We're like that house in kent hanging over the edge of an eroded cliff. Looks fine from the front door, but half the floor's already gone and it's only stubbornness and lime mortar that's keeping the walls from following.
