Well that and I have a running theory that all companies should be treated as empires and what do we know about empires, they rise and then they fall with only a few empires (countries/families) that remain strong. I'm starting to use more forward thinking past the usual fundamentals and one question I ask myself is "what is the realistic usefulness lifespan of the product I'm investing in?" Look at Coke the soda company, they were a safe bet because their product was good, they showed they could grow their company's reach independently through innovation, you'd be able to track that using patents. This is a company that will stay relevant as it planted itself into Americana.
But, I'd be interested to know just how much their numbers don't fall now that SNAP no longer allows their products to be purchased. Either way I still don't recommend drinking the stuff unless they bring back sugar. Not because I know HFC is bad for you or Aspartame kills but because sugar is better value for the dollar spent. I know, it's pretty dumb but it comes with a lot of upside; like I don't drink it. Which brings me back to why I favor Palantir over Microsoft. Microsoft is old with old ideas run by old men who've contributed to humanity in ways we can never repay; it's time for the new to grow after the forest fire that has been the past decade and a half. Like I said after the two week lockdown ended after two years, "it's time to heal." Hopefully one of the remaining scars is a small lump of Islam's remains. Maybe bumped scars like a dog bite.
