You Know What Grinds My Gears? - Things that personally piss you off

It drives me nuts when I have a scheduled appointment, show up, and they expect to for whatever reason to wait there for an hour. If I showed up there an hour later would they give me the same leeway? Would I be afforded the same patience? No. Scheduled meetings exist for a reason.

Where was the appointment at/for?

When I was a kid, I collected cards for an online game, they'd immediately go in a sleeve and in my room. I remember one day my mom decided to stick the pile of the most expensive cards in a drawer to tidy up and they got a little warped and bent before I rescued them. They'd be worth probably around 30k now, and there's a revival of the game which would hopefully make them go up in price but I don't think they're really sellable condition.

When i was a kid, i had a gen 1 holographic charizard pokemon card. my fat dumb 11 year old self traded it away. as an adult hearing about them going for tens of thousands of dollars and still kicking myself for what i did as a kid.

Which brings me to what grind my gears: Scalpers, more specificvally, the pokemon card scalpers who do scumbag shit like camp out in front of machines and instantly clean out shelves and even get violent if a normie gets one pack out from under their nose. Ok, if its a first-come, first serve ting then whatever, but i've seen a lot of videos of these scumbags actually camp at the machines and then shove people out of the way to buy anything good that comes up for sale in the machine, and now stores like target have to screw the sealed collectors over by opening the plastic at the stores to compat scalpers. because its been such a huge problem for so long and destroying the hobby for future generations.

after years now of scumbaggery at this point, the scalpers are crying like little bitches now the stores and the people have had enoiugh and put the boot down, and i don't feel sorry for them.

I have a coworker carpooling with me because her life went a bit topsy-turvy. Had to take her to an appointment today after work, but she didn't tell me what time. Naturally, I beelined it there. After waiting about half an hour, I asked her what time her appointment actually was. She told me it was scheduled about two hours after we get off.

Fuck's sake, I could have gone grocery shopping or something. She's home now, but I wish she were more cognizant of people's time.

Huge sub sandwiches that are put together in such a way that it's impossible to bite into it and actually get all the ingredients in your mouth at once.

Thats when you tell her that. Its nice of you to be there for someone but that doesnt give them the excuse to take your time. Had way too many old coworkers get a ride from me once and think thats an open door for you to be their butler.

Haha im funny cuz i didnt actually contribute to the thread and i posted silly video instead haha.

I wish people would stop opening up packages of food in stores, taking some and leaving the open, unsellable package. Same goes with drinks people open up and drink out of. There were two things I wanted that I couldn't buy because they were the last ones and had been pilfered.

The CVS I go to is overworked because all the nearby pharmacies closed down. Just because you are in line for 20 minutes doesn't mean you can open up sodas you didn't pay for and then leave them half empty on the wall that separates the chair rows. Last time I was there I saw an opened can of iced coffee and an opened bottle of vanilla extract. WTF? Ya'll standing in line making free vanilla lattes? This is the reason why half the store's products are behind glass. I can't even get a toothbrush without pressing a button and waiting for some overworked wage slave to come over with the key.

People on meth or similar substances that think they are hiding their addiction.

Why does every meth head believe that they can cover up when they do it? Hard drugs already change your body and face, is it so hard for them to accept that it changes how they act and think too? That leads into something else that annoys me, why does every single one of them deny it no matter what evidence someone has of them doing drugs. I've seen so many bodycam vids of cops finding a pipe or baggie and suddenly theres 4 different reasons why it isnt theirs but in their bag or car. Yeah because thats always worked out well, cops definetly think youre not on anything. I suppose its the same reason they all think someone is gonna find them or watching them; self importance. Lord of the needles, and if you take one hit of meth then the satellite man is gonna shoot electronic waves into your teeth and follow you with drones

Just had a wigger faggot in a squatted diesel truck stop in front of me in an enclosed bridge, getting in the way of not only myself on my bicycle but also a mother with what I assume was her daughter on a walk, and proceed to "roll coal" and gas us out with exhaust before barreling down the quiet road that kids live on at an easy 65.

The burning hatred I have for people is reaching "I'm about to write a manifesto" levels.

Since when did men's haircuts get so expensive? In my local area it's a miracle to find something under $34. "Oh but you get a free drink and a hot towel and..." I don't need any of that shit. All I want is buzz buzz, snip snip, done.
Ladies haircuts are now 22 bucks at GreatClips. (Not counting tip.) That's the cheapest I could find. I use GreatClips because my hair is baby thin and there's literally nothing I can do with it but have it cut short a single length. If I try to have anything else done to it it just flops down after a few minutes because my hair is literally the width of one electron. Anyway, I'm mad because 22 bucks (plus tip) is a lot of money to pay some lady to spray water on my hair and give me a Moe Howard bowl special.

Something that majorly chaps my ass, and maybe it should go into the "Modern day terms" but I couldn't find it so it's going here.

All the fucking times people say "It's Over" "Career is Dead" and similar when the fucker in question just keeps on producing content and still has fans. Call me a literalist all you want, but I don't consider someone's career over until it's in such shambles that they can't produce any content and there's no visible fanbase whatsoever. The Quartering's career is NOT DEAD. Lily Orchard's is NOT DEAD. Darksydephil's is NOT DEAD. Low Tier God's is NOT DEAD. Wings of Redemption's is becasue he's not producing anything anymore and I haven't heard any outcry from any fans.

Pre-Covid, I'd go to a cosmetology school where senior students would cut hair on the cheap ($10 for a simple men's cut and wash). With how much prices have increased since then, I'd have to see what it costs there now if chains are charging much more than that to see if they're still the better bargain.

Fuck kids using em, grown ass adults using em that same way....I blame, once again, Apple for giving mouth breathers access to anything higher tech than flip phones and making them want the expensive shit they have no business using.
In the past, I briefly had a coworker who used emojis in intra-office emails. It ground my gears because I find emoji use anything but professional and something to avoid at the workplace.

I had a dentist office move my appointment time up by an hour unannounced until they confirmed it the day before only to be running behind when I arrived to the point I would have been better off having my original time. I was peeved to have lost an extra hour for nothing knowing that if I had arrived late, they'd have cancelled my appointment and charged me a fee. It's no wonder that and other reasons led to my leaving there after 3 visits.

When it's close to closing time and you're confronted with a customer's request that takes forever.
When I worked in a hardware store, I was the only one available to cut pipe one particular day. Store policy was no pipe being cut after 6 PM, but this clown made a large order request at 5:45 knowing full well it would take more than 15 minutes for it to be completed and requiring me to work beyond my 6 PM stop time to cut everything to spec.

Thread tax: I had to order a new laptop recently. The site had filter options for Windows 10 machines but selecting it produced nothing but Windows 11 options. Why offer an option that's not available? 🤷‍♂️ I also encountered this trying to order colored paper. If a particular color is permanently discontinued, stop having it as an option.
