I agree with this. The report from the search unearthed more than what was then later shown to be in evidence / what he was prosecuted for.I'm still convinced that the reason we never got the bodycam was that Nick not only had enough drugs to qualify for an intent to distribute charge, but likely had enough to require a mandatory report to the DEA, that the local sheriff's office destroyed a good deal of the drugs to keep everything local, and that the footage would have shown enough cocaine and ketamine present that, if a DEA agent ever saw it, would get them a very uncomfortable visit. This is also why I thought it was a mistake for Hardin to go through the Minnesota court system instead of the Federal courts, since the state judges might intuit what the local authorities were trying to do and cover for them.
Furthermore, Nick says that the police missed some drugs.
They never searched his car, which had drugs in it.
There may have been many more areas where the police chief would much rather not have the public scrutinize. It suited both police and the rekietas to withhold the cams.
