ah the good old sodium vapor lamps. They gave the nights of the 80's such an interesting atmosphere but they ate up electricity like crazy and had a very limited lifespan.

While the LED's are souless, they are cheap, long lasting and easy to make.

There are plenty of LEDs that are 2700k and 'warm' and decent. Better than CFL for sure. Halogen and CFL were the worst to me, they'd only last a few months and halogen was especially harsh. It took years for LED to really pull away with longevity but now they last legit years. I think they're great.
