Most PhD holders in the world would probably parrot "trans women are women" these days
They probably would. We’re entitled to our own political positions just like anyone else. But: that’s not the same as saying a biochemist is wrong about a biochemical process with extraordinarily consistent findings over many years in many countries. And that’s actually the discussion at hand.
the entire scientific field is in the midst of a replication crisis where many if not most published scientific studies cannot be replicated.
This is actually incorrect, but I can see why people outside academia might think this.
Critical theory-based programs have infested our faculties (think gender studies, women’s studies, all the “grievance studies” really) and these are producing an extraordinary amount of absolute diarrhea that no one reads, no one cites, and it’s all Marxist word salad that has no scientific method behind it and no data - it’s almost all just made up nonsense.
This is what cannot be replicated. The hard sciences are as robust and falsifiable as they have ever been, we’re just drowning under an avalanche of horseshit from made-up faculties that pursue agenda not truth.
I say this not to bully strangers on the internet, but you need to correct your fire on this. You very much should hate this postmodern political faggotry wearing scientific clothing, but if you end up having a low opinion of all the branches of science as a result then you have been fooled by the faggotry (and one could argue that’s at least
partially their goal) and you’re robbing yourself of your single most powerful tool to refute their nonsense. Baby/bathwater situation really.
If we were just to take credentials at face value over the evidence our own senses and experience give us, we would all have to shut up and drink the tranny koolaid.
Good for you. Don’t take my word for it. In fact all the best people I’ve ever worked with have insisted no one should take their word for anything- especially just because of a few letters after their name - but I did share the outline of a study and suggest people go looking for more. You should do that, it will give you a much more nuanced understanding than just this one guy you know.
Sure, it was an anecdote. But I'm sure you've also seen many cases of red-faced FtM troonrage, too.
I’m going to pay you the courtesy of assuming you know the difference between small sample size anecdotal evidence and statistically significant controlled studies. Most people appreciate that at a surface level at least, but here’s what people tend to forget about anecdotal evidence:
what exactly is it evidence of?
Let’s take your guy who lost his testicles to cancer (by the way, very sorry to hear about this, assuming it was a friend to some extent). He will not be happy about that. I am sure most people can imagine the feelings of loss, the frustration and anger at the situation, and maybe every time he has to take TRT shots it’s a stark reminder that he’s now less of a man, a core part of what made him who he is is missing. In this situation is it the testosterone making him angry?
Then there’s ethnographical information I don’t have. Perhaps this guy lives/works in an environment where aggression is rewarded and a core part of the social hierarchy. Is it the testosterone now?
If he’s a cancer survivor he is likely also on a lot of other medications. A lot of strong medications have mood effects - especially when a lot of these things don’t have a lot of long term drug interaction results to look for when you’re on a bit of a remission cocktail. Is it the testosterone now?
To really answer this you’d need to compare many other men who also lost their testicles in similar ways, live similar lifestyles, and have a similar overall treatment plan.
There’s nothing invalid about making anecdotal observations, you just have to be aware of how limited and contextual they are and what you’re actually observing before you use it as a counterpoint to decades of large scale clinical and longitudinal data.
BTW you might decide I am some asshole who likes arguing with strangers on the internet - and fair enough if you do - but I genuinely hope there’s something here you hadn’t fully considered and I really hope you take a more granular view of “science” as it is your single most powerful thinking tool you will ever acquire. Don’t let commie faggots ruin it for you. Please.
