No explanation for why they're using the term 'media literacy', what it means to them, or giving examples for why the ending is so great and how it ties into the fundamentals of a good story. They just want to call you illiterate for thinking the badly written story filled with lazily dropped plot points and thinly veiled fetishes

Almost, instead of daddy issues, it’s mommy issues, because his mom didn’t support him being trans.

That being said I agree with everything you said. Everyone wanted a farewell to their favorite characters, in a fun adventure, but this was basically just Goosework using the finale as therapy for his own personal issues. Hence why Jax’s super dark past is mid at best.

He is blind to how bad it is it, because the movie is narcissistically designed to give him a pat on the back for his personal problems trough his self insert Jax (his AGP, his mom, not feeling masculine enough). Everyone, and everything else is just an afterthought.

It’s a movie designed to satisfy him first and foremost.

Hey guys, Kevin, CEO of GLITCH here. Been trying to figure out when and how to express this, but now I think is the right time:

To the fans - Thank you, deeply. You are the reason we got here. I know it can get noisy online sometimes, but the real-world reality is that you are some of the most genuine, kind people we have ever had the privilege of meeting. We saw every cosplay, every discussion circle, every sticker shared outside the theatres. That is what this is all about.

To every person at/with GLITCH - I never doubted you for a single second. You are all so incredibly talented, and I am so proud that the impact of your work is now being felt on a world stage.

To the industry - Animation and cinema is art. Art is human expression. Digital Circus was a deeply personal story created to express complex feelings. Please let that be the signal you take from all of this.

To everyone - Keep making things and keep sharing your work. We found all our creators through the internet.

Animation is art, but can never be as serious as traditional media. For one, it can never match the emotional power and show of dedication human actors at their best can achieve, which is together a mixture of technical, writing, and physical skill. Animation will always have just the two, and in compensating most often relies upon show than story. The bright spectacle of animation also is more for children, and real stories (ones with real persons and portrayals of real enough circumstances) need to be at least convincing. There can be great stories in animation, but there will always be these realities and traps. So this guy is either fooling himself or lying to Hollywood that TADC is something that was not, is, and will be mainly tween-teen media. Also the arrogance of him asking for a participation trophy for having a hecking nuanced story is beyond me (and again, is asking for compensation for not having a human based story). Animation has had morality tales since Walt Disney practically invented it. This “that’ll show ‘em” attitude is something you do not want put in writing, at least this smugly and for one (1) movie if you don’t want that very industry seeking to snuff you out as a rival

Nah, we see a few pages, they are all equally ass as this. Maybe she will erase the guidelines later, but that's it.

To be fair I think showing that Gangle is bad at art in real life, and has very few followers on then Twitter was intentional.

GLITCH could easily had hired any good artist that draws decently as her stand in. The fact she never became a big name mangaka, and instead is an unknown bad artist, is more believable admittedly.
That's well and good, and I believed that part... it was quitting McDonald's and getting a professional job in an art firm I didn't buy. I mean maybe she is the desk lady who takes down the contact details for their clients or their janitor. I guess it was never explicitly said she's drawing for the company, breathing the air that's been in the lungs of competent people is enough.

I mean GW didn't quit his job at McDonald's, he was fired. He is still a better artist than Gangle and was able to be granted a series by an independent studio.

Which is why it's even more retarded to Jax have him off himself because he just learned he was born from someone else who may or may not have killed his mother. The existential dread of having memories/personality of someone that you never were should have been better explored in their despair. By the beginning of ep 9, the walls were closing in and if he was really so terrible as he tried to be, he would've done more than say a few mean things and walk away to ack. Surely he saw that the others were trying to cleanse/create things and that didn't interest him, why? Plus the abstraction is never explained - suicide allegory, just plain losing your mind - whatever in the end because when we first see it happening to him, it looks peaceful in a way. Like you hallucinate things first, then go into a trance like state, but it suddenly starts feeling like a nightmare? Still not sure what the point of all of that was now either fuck.

With that dream sequence and the earlier stuff implying weirdly ribbit was still "there" as ghostly watermarks or shit that shows up for a bit in a blink and you miss it thing despite supposedly being abstracted which led to theories about shit, and ALSO kinger's wife seemingly still being mentally there post-abstraction enough to not attack people like kaufmo did, it really seems they were trying to go for something else entirely before pivoting to "NOTHING REAL EVERYONES JUST AI BRAIN CLONES OOPSIE ALSO CAINE'S BACK YAAAAY!!!"

CORRECT. I had correctly guessed before they were brain scans/not strictly "real" and was most looking forward to see how they'd handle this in the finale. Only to get a spit in the face with a couple throaway lines from ragitha about how she "le always knew" so they could hurry up and jerk off jax. I got the false impression from ep3's therapy speak sesh with gumigoo they could satisfactorily tackle that topic.

I've got my own strong opinions about how "real" a brain scan'd be but won't waffle too much about it for fear of making a pseud looking ass of myself.

That was episode 2!!! Episode 3 was kinger talking about his wife and how he's more relaxed in the dark because it reminds him of the last moments he had with her before she was sent to the cellar.

Also the gummigoo thing directly contradicts the "nothing real nobod y real" shit because of the fact they fell into like the debug/asset room and the moment where caine gets very fucking concerned for a sec about the possibility of him mixing up AIs with the humans he trapped in the VR game
