Am in Europe. Ground beef is about $8.15 per lb at my local supermarket. There is a beef shortage that has been going on since the middle of last year. This has increased the demand for chicken, leading to a chicken shortage also.
This can only be solved by quintupling immigration from North Africa. I hope your leaders have the stones to do what's necessary.

Looks more like panic at this point. Microsoft has burned an enormous amount of capital on AI, and Nadella needs to start showing returns or lose his job. At this point, we're in a runaway cycle where investors, who do not have the faintest clue what deep learning means or what model weights are, are demanding that you tell them how you're "transforming your business for the AI era," or you don't get dollars.

In Microsoft's case, Satya also didn't understand AI, but he had a gut feeling it was going to be a big deal, and believed Sam Altman is a super-genius (he's actually just a Machiavellian homosexual) who was going to invent AGI, so he gave him all the money he wanted. Now investors want to see the payoff.
Microsoft in spite of having multiple vectors for acquiring data have completely fumbled the bag. Bing search was better than Google's when the AI craze began. Yet copilot is utterly useless.
Microsoft through GitHub have had the easiest access for training and use data on AI coding yet have produced no usable model.
Microsoft through CoPilot(the VS extension) have one of the most popular harnesses for AI use in coding yet still have nothing workable and act as nothing more than a middle man for Anthropic and Open AI.
Microsoft in spite of being there from the start, having the largest technical resource vault, trying to be there from the start are the worst AI company. Even Meta has produced some usable things. Microsoft has done nothing of value on the AI front.

On the beef topic. I just bought ground beef tonight. $6.50 a pound.

For me it's 6.30 USD a kg, about 3.10 a pound. But we're Eastern Europoor aka dirt poor.

I get my frozen patties at $4.xx~$5 a pound, depending on the fat mix and costco vs aldi etc
wife got a brisket a week or so back for $4 even, I still see the usual 7.99/8.99 ribeye/tbone offers most weekends at winn dixie

there does seem to be a bit of a disconnect between the price increases on the cheaper cuts of cow vs the more expensive ones
I don't seriously keep an eye on like, sirloins and fliets at costco but it does seem like they've spiked WAY more than my usual range

still mad about white people finding out about neckbone and ox tail

On a completely unrelated note, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google's AI division are all very diverse with lots of Americans, Europeans, and Chinese people.

Vancouver Washington can be considered a suburb of Portland and a lot of locals work in Portland and shop in Oregon to avoid Vancouver's 8.9% sales tax. Judging by local news coverage, the main issues in Kent's two congressional runs were building an expensive new bridge to Portland that Ken opposed and building an expensive new light rail link to Portland that Kent also opposed. He lost by 1% the first time and 3% in 2024, so little extra boost might be enough to win if he runs again.
I think he'd have a fair shot, he should lean on his anti war stances really hard.

I generally like Joe Kent, I think he had a little sperg out about the Iran stuff, and I can't really blame him. Dude has only known a world with us being pulled into quagmires in the middle east. I really feel that in my soul, so I'm very biased towards him. He fucked up by handling it the way he did, he gave up a very powerful position where he could have nudged shit in the direction he wanted. I agree with his stance, but I disagree with the way he handled it all. I don't think he's some traitor who is sucking arab dick or whatever, I just think he was a little misguided.

He was out of his depth in DC politics and looked like an idiot with the Charlie Kirk stuff. On the other hand, he's still better than most of the left coast GOP candidates. The GOP party machine in these states mostly seems to be temporarily embarrassed Democrats who live in areas where Democrats can't get elected.

While I love to bash microsoft, I think it's a bit unfair. They've made some interesting (but not very popular) models, like the "bit" one, and things like onnxruntime are solid pieces of engineering "everyone" uses.
But it seems like more and more it's individual teams/engineers at Microsoft doing good work against the grain of the wider culture there.

If Donald Trump can be President, then Spencer Pratt can be Mayor.

Also ground beef is around $1 per pound higher where I live than it was a couple months ago. Grilling season is gonna be stressful for some folks.

You're not allowed to complain about beef prices. There's a few people here who live in places where beef is still reasonable, so therefore you're lying and full of shit. Leave your blue / dem dystopia, libcuck.

If i go end of week at a certain grocery store near me, the ground beef is on sale because there are too many Indians who shop there.
