Since we all have to suffer from this nigger hell economy let it be known you can get a 3lb package of ground turkey for $4.25/lb (from ground beefs like $7/lb in bulk) and per lb it has 91g of protein (from 80/20 ground beefs 81g). 352 less calories (800 vs 1152) but its basically the "other" chicken (in terms of being high protein) of meat since its high protein as fuck. Its also a bird also which checks out.

Tastes nice, especially with seasoning and such, I would say better than ground beef. Hope it doesn't get turned into a luxury cut like chicken wings or whatever.
i make turkey chips from ground turkey because im low carb and it's affordable

If its outside their immediate vicinity it isn't real and must be untrue for the entire country. Its 4 bucks a pound where that nigger is, so its just gotta be 4 bucks a pound where you is, nigga!

Sure, normal people who have traveled a bit might realize prices can and do vary (sometimes significantly) per region, but hey, this nigga will probably die within 25 miles of where he was born, and he's got a few dopamine disorders, so fuck you, buddy! ITS 4 DOLLA!

BTW, Its around $7-8/lb around me, too. But, I'm well stocked on venison and poultry, so I'm dealing.
That's not my fucking point at all. This motherfucker endlessly bitches and moans about anything and everything, but i'm suppose to believe he's an honest broker on the price of something that's been a pressure point of the press for damn near a week?

Beef is 4 bucks a pound, been close to that for a few years here, maybe it's up 50.75 cent in the past little bit. It's not complex at all.

The only beef I even buy is the 6 pound rolls of 1/3lb 85/15 patties from sams, they've been 25 bucks for a couple years, they haven't changed much at all, so i call bullshit on beef doubling in price.

Not going to PL, and this might be a little inside baseball, but effective 6/1, a large number of Fortune 500s are having their rate structure for their LLM usage shift from flat/per-user payments, to paying per-token.

Needless to say, the jeets that they have been training to "maximize AI usage," have not been trained to utilize tokens efficiently. One guy I talked to is expecting their costs per user to 60x in many cases starting tomorrow.

Can confirm this is the case, anecdotally my firm put a hard cap on daily (and weekly) token allotments at the start of the month in preparation. You need more tokens? You're not getting them - and in fact they just did a RIF which impacted several AI focused software architect positions which were burning tokens at Amazon/NVIDIA levels so doubly so.

Only select companies will avoid the cost increase, in part because they are responsible for the infrastructure which enables mass LLM usage in the first place.
Would we start seeing a bunch of companies realize that firing all their employees and replacing them with ShatGPT is not viable starting tomorrow or will they not really start panicking until they get the bills and it's basically takes their entire monthly profit and then some?

I'd be so happy if the looking AI implosion happens soon and companies start realising that hiring jeets that outsource the thinking to clankers fucked up their business.

Amazon spent half a billion in a month on Claude tokens and Microsoft was ranking employees based off AI usage, ie more tokens used = better employee without considering WHAT the tokens were used on

it was a free for all

Why can't trump subsidize meat industry and make them grow more cattles. He isn't doing anything.
He is, he's opening Federal Land to more grazing permits, he's taking down tariffs against American Beef, allowing cattle producers to make more money, incentivizing increasing production.

The issue is cattle is slow. It takes 24-30 months from deciding to increase output, to actually having a larger herd ready for slaughter. The Democrats are openly trying to end beef production and have been putting the squeeze on them for over a decade. If they suddenly invest hundreds of millions into massively increasing herd size, and a Democrat gets in 2028, they could undo all that. Explode feed costs, cuck to foreign nations seeking to eliminate our competition.

At which point, beef would go through the floor, as they will liquidate herds they can't afford to feed. You'll be buying rib eyes for a couple of bucks... for a few months. Then beef will become a luxury, the Raisin's prices will seem like a steal, and it will all be to enrich other countries, as US production will be a niche market.

"If its outside their immediate vicinity it isn't real and must be untrue for the entire country. It's 10 bucks a pound where that nigger is, so it's just gotta be 10 bucks a pound where you is, nigga!"
I didn't say that, or even imply that.

I'm saying that nigger @Sammich is probably ignorant of any market beyond his limited geographical scope. I absolutely do believe its 4 bucks/lb where near him. In fact, thanks to the magic power of the magic thinky box upon which I currently type, I can check local/regional average prices pretty damned easily, and @Sammich actually can. too. It's $4/lb around 25 miles from his location, and he implied that must be true nationally. That kind of statement doesn't exactly scream "well traveled and well informed savvy consumer" to me. It does say "this nigga checked his local supermarket and assumed that was true errrrywhere." Raisin bitched about the price but made no overt blanket claim for the entire nation. That not-so-subtle nuance may be more than you could detect.

I go on at least one extended weekend road trip a year. I know how can prices vary by state and region, because I've shopped in more than my own backyard. Your disingenuous snark is entirely misplaced, and I'm going to assumed this is autism related, as is the usual custom.

"Here" being a key word. You do understand that may not be true in other states or regions, correct? And I only call you a nigger/affectionately and colloquially, I should note. You're solid, you just tickled my autism a bit there. Its not and never was a "skill issue" but rather a geography/logistics/tax issue.

It’s the pregnant woman problem here. You can’t fuck 9 women to get a baby in 1 month.

these motherfuckers are actually finding the breaking point price ceilings for FOOD

so clearly that inflation number is horse pucky, its likely 4 or 5 times the number they admit, I think 10-12% YoY inflation is more accurate to what the majority of the economy is feeling

Nah, this kicked off because @CaliforniaRaisin decided to blame the price of beef in whatever urban hellscape he lives in on Trump. If it's really Trump's fault, then shouldn't beef be up across the country, like gas is? Yet I'm still paying $3-4 per lb like I have been for the past couple of years, and I'm nowhere near cattle country. Sucks for you if your ground beef is $8/lb but it's got nothing to do with Trump.

The "Big Mac Index" is right up your alley, stud. Ask your AI buddy about it.

I guess I'm just accustomed to raisin sometimes doing that kind of thing. My eyes tend to glaze over when I see that "Its worse in my blue state, but somehow orange man at fault" bitching. That's just background noise, now. Probably because I'm stuck in a blue state but sometimes weekend at a buddies in a neighboring red state and that gives me perspective. Plus I do a big trip with some buds once a year for dirtbike brapbrapbraaaaap purposes. I just took it as general inflation bitching using beef as an example.

Raisin is a sperg sometimes, sure. But this is USPG2, and like the clown says, "We all float down here." Plus he's funny, sometimes.

It's largely because inflation hits different goods at different rates. For example, consumer electronics cost nearly the same as or less than they did 26 years ago.

The panic comes when they realize AI can't actually do what humans do, but the humans who did the things are gone. Apple's one of the few tech companies that did not think Markov chain generation can replace genuine expertise and did not fire all their senior employees. They may just run away with everything as all their competitors' products crumble to shit.

We fired so many engineers in the last 12 months because our software suppliers assured our CEO that text autocomplete has made intelligence obsolete that I wouldn't be surprised to see us shut down whole product lines in the next 3 years.
