Ibn Kathir's (Abridged) tafsir for Surah 3:28 [a]
(unless you indeed fear a danger from them) meaning, except those believers who in some areas or times fear for their safety from the disbelievers. In this case, such believers are allowed to show friendship to the disbelievers outwardly, but never inwardly. For instance, Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Ad-Darda' said, "We smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them." Young people are fucking retarded to begin with and don't understand the finality or the difficulty or especially the futility involved with the decision to take an action like this. They plan shit out like they're in a movie, which means they don't plan at all they just go off of vibes. They don't go after anyone with any importance, they go after children. And when their master plan with no planning, recon, or prep goes horribly off the rails of the amusement park ride they imagined in their head they take the coward's way out instead of attempting to at least strike back at the law enforcement coming in to put them down like the feral beasts they are.
