The entirety of the LIRR (the largest commuter rail system in the country) is shut down because the labor unions wanted even higher wages. The MTA or whoever the fuck manages the LIRR already said that they'd give them a 3% wage increase which is what was requested but I guess they decided that they wanted more than 3%.
Weird how they went on strike when NYC needs more money after being bailed out by the state 🤔

SCOTUS vacates redistricting rulings in Mississippi, North Dakota

Mississippi, however, has appeared to pour cold water on the prospect of a redraw in time for 2026, with Gov. Tate Reeves, R, canceling a special session and saying he saw "no need" to redraw the maps.

The Supreme Court on Monday vacated two redistricting rulings in North Dakota and Mississippi and remanded them to reconsideration in light of their recent decision on the Voting Rights Act.

Earlier this month, the justices eliminated race-based congressional districts and narrowed the scope of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais. The decision triggered a wave of redistricting efforts across the South, which has long maintained minority-majority districts by court orders.

In a pair of orders, the justices on Monday remanded cases in North Dakota and Mississippi, both of which had seen lower courts block redistricting plans in those states due to claims of race-based voter dilution under the VRA.

The Louisiana decision, however, rendered those decisions moot and the orders likely pave the way for both states to redraw their maps as originally intended.

I think a wet blanket on the hanta front is that the cause instantly became known and the initial exposure was kind of limited.

Now there is a question in my mind why someone goes strolling through a landfill on vacation but I am sure we will never get an answer.

The new hotness is the ebola outbreak.
The issue is that Hantavirus didn't infect 20,000,000 Chinese during the Lunar New Year celebration who then traveled all over the globe, infecting every inch of it.

Ron and thomas were considered friends when they were in congress together as well, they were part of some "freedom caucus" as well.

It's curious that Ron wouldn't have his buddy's back, Desantis is a fair to middling governor, but he's a really really shitty friend
