When it comes to generators:
It destroys human creativity, people don't want to learn anything because some AI can sort of kind of but not really make what you want, it's like 20% what you want but you don't feel like spending 2 years learning how to do 100% what you want so you settle for the 20%.
I think a lot of potentially brilliant creatives will never make anything because they won't be motivated to do so and we will lose a ton of brilliant innovative things that could but won't be made.
We will lose geniuses because they will become lazy and, instead of making things themselves and innovating, they will just input prompts to get generic mediocre results.
When it comes to search engines:
A lot of the results are just bullshit, they're not true. I'm sure most people know about AI hallucinations and they are a serious problem when a lot of people rely on ChatGPT or whatever to look up information and do research for them.
These things most of the time just give you the most frequent answer to a question and if the most frequent answer is wrong (which is the case a lot of the times), you will never learn the truth.
Also, it's really easy to program this stuff to give biased answers that push a particular worldview and most people won't notice because they never do research.
When it comes to the parasocial aspect:
Over the next 20 years, lonely weirdos will multiply in numbers because it's easier to talk to a bot that affirms your delusions and never challenges you.
A lot of people already don't feel like making friends, AI will make it even easier to be antisocial.
When I watched Idiocracy, it never made sense to me because who the fuck does all the work? Who makes the things for the dumbasses?
AI solves this issue.
Now, we can actually move on a path towards that kind of dystopia where everyone is a lazy moron and AI will make their lives comfortable enough.
Once we get the kind of VR that we always see in sci fi movies or even a holodeck tech from Star Trek, we are doomed as a species.
We can only hope for a Butlerian Jihad in the future but that will come too late for us.
It might save our grandchildren's generation.
