I was raised in a small town but when I watched wrestling with my Grandfather on a black and white television I thought Macho Man was black so even I knew there was some difference between them due to the way they spoke and acted even if my town didn't have a single black person in it. Imagine my shock in 1989 when I watched wrestling on a colour television and found out he was just a coked out white man with a tan. (Hogan was dark as fuck too, but there was no way an American icon with white hair and a bald spot could be black).
