Unfortunately, the blame being on the scriptwriter is going to be ignored by both sides. One will just think it sucks because of a female Doctor. The other will think it's all the fault of REEEEEEing spergs.

Tropes vs Women was the only thing to give her attention. In an ironic sort of way, the ones that may as well be giving her attention are her critics. Even then, this bit of attention is just milking on this whole autistic controversy over a new actor being the Doctor.

I keep seeing people mentioning that the Doctor was a non-violent male hero, making him unusual, and that making this one a woman will reinforce the "men are violent" business.
