💤 Inactive Andrew Dobson / Tom Preston / CattyN - STOP DOING SEXIST CRAP

the fact Dobson sees it in terms of defeating the evil MRA's is pretty telling. It isn't even really about uplifting women to him.

As with many tumblr tards, he mistakes symbolic victory for literal.

Yeah, sadly that brand of exceptionalism isn't unique to Andrew. Any supposed victory for women is not a victory because it uplifts the woman, but because it punishes/upsets men. Probably why we see so much of it out of Andrew, really, since recall that he's pretty much incapable of originality. Like his drawings he never makes something on his own, he takes something someone else did and regurgitates it, slimier and even less appetizing than it was originally.

Heh. So there's a female Dr. Who now and people expect Dobson to gloat like a motherfucker, and what does he do?
Whine over negative comments and mope.
Never change, Dobson, never change.
No really, you'll never change, no matter how much you try.

So, are these Dobson's own tears or the tears his father sheds whenever he looks at his son?

FUCK YOU, I BET YOU FLY UNITED.

I bet they'll give the Doctor an incredibly attractive male companion and Dobson will weep because his dreams of banging the Doctor and it not being gay will have been foiled again.
As I said, I don't watch Doctor Who, I assume the female sidekicks are usually more than just eye-candy? It would be fun if they gave the new Doctor a male, attractive sidekick who kicks ass and takes names, so the SJW-crowd spills their salt over not having a lesbian Doc and having a man being a competent side character.

It varies, depending on the companion and who you ask. A lot of the oldschool neckbeards liked to think of the Doctor as a celibate, uber-intelligent master of wit, the same as they saw themselves (and as a sort of precursor to "this character is canonly asexual!" bullshit on tumblr), so any female companion who could theoretically have romantic interaction with the Doctor as opposed to being put firmly into the "little sister/surrogate daughter" box tended to get dismissed as stupid pandering eye candy, regardless of their actual characterization.

Similarly expect lots of howling from Andrew and the rest of the tumblfucks no matter what they do with this female Doctor. Romance with a male companion? "Heteronormativity!" Romance with a female companion? "Pandering!" from the tumblfucks, "YES!" from Andrew. No romance? "Oh so the male Doctor could have romances but the female Doctor has to be sexless?!"

No, he's confident about his art. Confident he doesn't need to change anything, confident that it's good, confident people should love it (and mystified that they don't).

He's actually pretty fucking arrogant, even if he doesn't think he's the "best ever". (Though the number of times he's actually admitted someone else has better art than he does is scanty enough that no examples come to mind off the top of my head.)

Never confuse Andrew's pity-whoring for a lack of confidence, he thinks he's fan-fucking-tastic, he's just so touchy and weak that he goes to pieces every time he's confronted by the fact that so few other people in the world think so. He's the equivalent of a guy in a bar who has all the confidence in the world when he strolls up to the hottest woman there and tosses out his best (shitty) come-on line, and is then emotionally devastated when she tells him to get lost.

So Andrew is just being Andrew then. Gotcha. It's too bad he's too lazy to create a comic for us to mock.

Here are just some tweets tho:

When the hell were you ever confident? You barely draw and your tweets smell of smugness and desperation rolled into one. That is, when you're not lazily re-tweeting other people's posts with no self awareness in play.

And unless I'm missing something that he isn't, Star Trek would have happened regardless of I Love Lucy. Neither of those shows had the same creator, just the same production studio. It's not like they needed to be produced by Desilu, Paramount could have easilly had another company help produce it for them.

pretty much agree
dobby thinks he's good, in fact he's too good for this sinful unlesbian world

Found Dobson's old Angelfire website and stumbled upon a bit of content.
It has the first chapter of Patty, A bit of the original AzP comic and a part of Detective Conan Percy Philipps.

This one stood out to me, though:

"My work has no money value at all"

:story:

Hate to admit it, the black-and-white short stories are actually quite readable - if not outright good*. I mean, they sort of follow a very same-y pattern, but they aren't terribly exectued.
"Untitled" and "Darkness" use the black and white quite nicely to convey a mood, and even though Dobson's style is still this rather dull and generic Rumiko Takahashi-ripoff, these comics do look decent enough.
And the content of these stories is something Dobson nowadays would never dare to do, too.

There's also 2 videos, one of which is the Patty animation and the other is an AzP piece (that doesn't work for me). Parts of these videos can be seen here and there in videos mocking Dobson.
Again, the Patty video isn't perfect when it comes to the technical aspects, but the animation is not that bad, tbh.
