💤 Inactive Andrew Dobson / Tom Preston / CattyN - STOP DOING SEXIST CRAP

This show is over 50 years old. It just needs to be retired. It's gone beyond Spongebob territory at this point. It's lasted 20 years longer than the 30 Years War.

So depressed he did nothing but play videogames. Which, if you're so depressed that you can't do anything, you shouldn't be able to do either. Depression doesn't affect your ability to do ONE CERTAIN THING, it affects your ability to do ANYTHING properly.

That's not depression, that's laziness and/or the sudden realization that he's an awful artist and hid in his vidya for fulfillment instead.
Eh, I think he's overstating how depressed he is. He's whining like he's crashing into slumber, almost nonfunctionally depressed, when in fact, he's most likely just suffering from minor anxiety and depression.
Basically, he's in a stage where playing videogames migth actually be some sort of mechanism to draw away his attention.

Dobson likes to pretend he's completely crushed with depression due to the world troubling him, when he's actually just realized that the life choices he's made over the past 10 years have made him end up in a deadend.

He's claimed to have both
I have little reason to doubt that he's actually seen a counselor and got medication prescribed, but I do not believe for a second that he's actually receiving therapy which he likes to claim from time to time.
He doesn't make any progress, his whining always stays on the same level and sometimes gives advice to his Twitter-friends that are just purely detrimental to their own mental health - like telling them to double down on their bullshit or cutting off contact with people that trigger him.
If he was actually seeing a therapist, he'd know how counterproductive his advice are.

The thing that really bothers me about his trolling comics like that Spot or whatever the hell that was is that he always crumbles the moment the comic receives any blowback.

If you're gonna go out of your way to troll someone, you need to realize you're gonna get some sort of backlash and you need to have a spine about it, otherwise you look pathetic. And Dobson doesn't have a spine, he folds whenever someone he criticizes strikes back.
Yeah. He pisses off a certain group of people paints a bull's eye on his back and then gets mad when people take potshots. And it's not even like he's getting mad at the worst stuff, the most benign, boring and lame comments rile him up to full-fledged shit-your-pants-temper-tantrums.

He was stupid enough to attach his name to a comic purely meant to make fun of and troll people on a gaming forum - and now he's whining that people don't let go, when he himself has a hand-written list of people that pissed him off 10 fucking years ago.

It's one of his more fascinating traits. He pokes the hornets nest over and over and then acts indignant when he gets stung and pretends he's the victim.

Made another parody song for the Dobby musical

Dobby: Can you not do that? You'll trigger me!

Oh? You hear that fellas? He said we're triggering him!

Poke the bear, everywhere!
Ask what happened to all his hair.
All that makes his ego deflate~
That's what Andrew Dobson hate!

Vote him down, leave critique.
Write a comment that make him squeak.
Show him how to improve and more~
Stuff we all know he'll ignore!

Catch him tracing of old Big Ben.
Share a tweet about sexist men.
Talk to him on a con and then~!
Spray him in the face again!

That's what Andrew Dobson hate!

It's a not-well-known fact that counsellors and shrinks who are not well-versed in patients with autism cannot really help patients with autism who also have depression or whatever (outside of medication)--the talking phase is completely hopeless. An autistic person will talk the therapist into circles and give a million excuses why not to try x, or they will have already tried x but it didn't work, or the therapist will give useless suggestions to the patient that the patient CANNOT carry out in a workable fashion--particularly if the suggestion is way too broad; or the patient, when questioned, will not be able to give answers that are helpful to the therapist because they don't understand their own situation. It's actually better for an autistic person to NOT see a therapist, if the therapist has no idea the patient has autism--let alone the patient not being aware of it. Odds are they will end up doing more harm than good.

Well, yeah, but I don't really believe that Dobson is on the spectrum, even though that is a theory that gets thrown around here every now and then.

It would explain a lot, but I do think people jump the gun on this one.

To play armchair psychologist maybe he's got bipolar disorder since he seems to have sudden highs where he's smugly ranting at people on Twitter and being productive (Making videos/art etc) followed by periods of depression where he just mopes around being morose.

Powerleveling a bit here:

As someone with a hefty amount of experience with bipolar disorder... Dobbo does not have it. He's just a pathetic 30 something year old man that has burned every bridge he had (outside of the one with mom and pop Dobson, and they probably want to burn it themselves), has isolated himself from the world, forcing him to live a solitary, sedentary life, and does nothing but sit on his computer bitching into his tiny echo chamber. He plays off his own toxicity, inevitably making himself worse off.

tl;dr the only reason Dobson is moody is because he's a lonely shut in that refuses to do anything to improve his own situation, because in all reality, he loves his misery.

There was a post earlier in the thread were a youtuber directly said this to him and he conceded they where right but shrugged it off.
I think this combines with him being deeply unfunny to make it worse for him. Since no one laughs it's just him annoying his betters.

Supposedly he sees a therapist and takes medication, but my belief is that he only did so for a short while after the water spray incident.

I do think he's on the spectrum though. Not haha what an autist but I think he's probably actually autistic to some degree.

Urrrrrrgh, the screeches of delight are going to be unbearable.
Well, whaddya know...

Ostatnio edytowane:
Dobson also finally reveals why he hated Doctor Who for so long. Supposedly he just wants silly adventures instead of anything Moffat ever wrote.
Lets just say it how it is: Dobson can only digest stuff on the level of Marvel movies or Rumiko Takahashi pre-Inuyasha.

Honestly, I'm in the Tennant > Smith camp because I just do not like Moffat's approach to the series. Just something about his style is just off-putting to me. I didn't like the Ponds, I didn't like Clara, I don't like how it's always going on about what the Doctor is, I miss the smaller self-contained adventures with hints to some bigger mystery at the end of the season, and I stopped watching during series 8 even though I love the 12th Doctor, I've been meaning to catch up. As such, I'm not really hyped not because I don't want a female Doctor, it's because Moffat is still attached to the show

edit: Oh, Moffat's gone. Okay, curious and a little hyped.

Though really, Dobson is going to milk this because "ugh men." It's less about female empowerment, it's more about feeding his own misandry.

Troughton is my favorite BTW, followed by Pertwee.

It's more the smug, sanctimonious attitude they'll be lording over people that the vast majority don't give a flying fuck about.

Then it'll be them screeching about misogyny when the inevitable backlash of attacking a large group of people (the majority of which were indifferent or apathetic to the subject at hand) happens.
