It would be less pathetic if they were buying it as a nostalgic collectable, rather than the tv itself.
People bought the TVs for the funny back before the parasites got in on the game. Now the Tvs themselves are int he same sphere as all the other "nostalgic collectables" that these people upcharge to unfathomable levels.

I just looked this title up on abebooks.com and it’s like $10 delivered nigga
Yeah, the seller listed is thriftbooks and that's questionable due to them being one of the big warehouse resellers. Which isn't something you want to go for when you're looking for a Bob Shaw book that's only had one edition printed in America, 50+ years ago.

Shaw's not an American writer, but he was a pretty respected and decently prolific UK (Northern Ireland) SF writer. For some reason, resellers on ebay/etc. hear some youtuber/social media influencer give praise to the book and suddenly the price spikes.

What the literal fuck are you on about? Abebooks delivers globally and the exact book you said was stupid expensive was $8-$11. Are you after a specific first edition hardback or something? Because if so you should have said.

I saw the seller, it's thriftbooks. That's a warehouse reseller, which are notorious for being extremely sloppy. The book listed is the Ace SF Special edition mass market paperback, which is the only edition you'll find in america, but these old mass markets from Ace are notoriously fragile. Big warehouse resellers will also not upload pics of the book and rely on underpaid minimum wage workers to do the description.

TLDR, I don't think I'd get an intact copy of the book and would rather just patiently wait to find it, or get the ebook if I really have a hankering.

Now if you think Shaw's a pain in the ass, there's also the likes of Thomas Disch or R. A. Lafferty, who usually get price-gouged. A lot of resellers who deal in vintage genre fiction will price-jack specific authors due to scarcity and popularity/respect. For fantasy fans, Karl Edward Wagner and Michael Shea would be up there in scarcity, especially for their Sword & Sorcery protagonists (Kane and Nifft).

Is there a thread for underpriced listings on ebay? I find it shocking how much blatant 'triangulation fraud' there is on ebay, and how easy it is to find. And when you report it to ebay, they use AI to reject your report and preserve their millions of dollars per day in illegal income. Its incredible that the credit card companies and other big companies getting ripped off don't do anything, since ebay could clearly put a halt to this easily.

For anyone who doesn't know what I"m talking about, just go to the food section and browse. It will show a lot of the more popular listings at the top, and many many many of these are blatant fraud. You will see stuff like a 48 pack of bottled water for $5 shipped for free, and it will likely come from wal-mart if you buy it.

But to the point of this thread, I have to say I used to sell stuff on ebay for a living, and sold maybe 5 yellowed no brand vintage (80s) keyboards for right around $300 each, and they were snapped up pretty much instantly every time and I had no complaints.

My favorite is computer components, they're usually close to a 50% discount over "normal" from a slew of 0 feedback accounts, but I think the actual fraud in these cases isn't triangulation but is hoping people either won't notice or won't go through ebay's arbitration system and/or filibuster long enough to dodge the time requirements for getting hit with chargebacks and such.

There's also some kind of scam involving ebay's new classifieds section where you'll see $10000 cards like the RTX 6000 Pro for under 3k, the speculation I remember seeing was it was either some kind of legitimacy farming scam with smurfs to set up scamming later, or the scamming happens when you contact the seller to take them up on the classified (since they don't work like Ebay's regular auctions).

I don't understand. What I am seeing is definitely triangulation fraud and it is rampant.
My bad, I misunderstood where the stolen payment credentials were coming from when I looked up the definition: I thought the fake ecommerce store was stealing the details from customers and then also using them (which wouldn't make sense with ebay since ebay is the processor), re-reading it the credentials stolen from elsewhere and then used to buy the items sold on the store which in this case would be ebay.

Criminals use stolen credit cards to buy stuff on walmart.com, amazon etc after you purchase the item on ebay, and then ship the item to your house. I would estimate ebay is making millions of dollars per day from this, based on how rampant it is. And I don't see anything about walmart, amazon, credit card companies etc doing anything about it - even though it is Extremely easy to find these listings and therefore remove them. Ebay goes in the opposite direction, making it Extremely hard for people to report these crimes and then once the person jumps through all the hoops and gets a PhD in how to report stolen goods on ebay, ebay just uses AI to automatically reject the claim.

Nearly $2,500 for plush bat titties, what a deal!

This retard thinks that this Granite Crusher is worth that amount of money. It's not even in perfect condition.

I checked previous prices on this site and most of them were way lower.

I took a look at his profile and it looks like he's still adamant on that price.

Kari Bryon from Mythbusters has been forced to feasermax. Now degenerates clearly don't know this because her shoes are current for sale for only 60 dollars.

Disgusting Foot Fetishists should be forced to pay as much money as possible for this fetish, and the economics major in me would like the information gap to be closed. I feel like there is just a premium being left on the table, and if someone flips it I'd like a tip. Surely this is one of the easiest flips of all time?
