EDIT: I am on the professional side of this world and we love people who change their own oil the first 5 years of owning a new car. It always shows up needing thousands of dollars of work because stuff got neglected. A lot of the repair cost would be avoided if they took the car to have the oil changed professionally. Do not take you car to any fast oil change places either. Its not worth the savings. Find a good indy shop (look on google maps, not yelp) for your make of a vehicle and take it there. You will be money ahead in the long run.

More relevant to the discussion, there is an article from The Hill (archive) underscoring Iran's recent missile attack on Diego Garcia (the largest island in the British Indian Ocean Territory, where there is a joint UK-US base) and Iran's apparent ability to strike targets further than previously believed. It does a great job of burying the lede, which is that Iran did, indeed, develop missiles for its nuclear weapons program which it swore up and down for years it wasn't doing.

What the article should underscore is that Iran has the capability to attack Europe, which means it's absolutely in their interest to topple the Iranian regime. So far, European leaders are acting like Trump is a bully. The article should also point out that Iran has been fucking lying for years.

The Minnesota secretary of state's office has received a grand jury subpoena ordering ‌it to turn over certain individual voter records as part of a federal investigation into whether non-U.S.-citizens are registered to vote or have unlawfully cast ballots, according to a U.S. law enforcement official.
CBS News, which first reported the subpoena, said the investigation ⁠is being run by the Justice Department and Department of Homeland Security.
The subpoena is the latest to target a high-ranking state ⁠official in Minnesota. In January, as the Trump administration surged thousands of federal agents in the state, the DOJ sought records from Minnesota's ⁠governor and attorney general as part of an investigation into interference with immigration enforcement.

For now everything is still sealed so there is no information who and what was subpoenaed so we will just have to sit tight for now.

We didn’t even use the draft for Iraq, a small island invasion, even if we are putting boots on the ground, wouldn’t by any means surpass what we already have. The kill:death ratio for this “war” has heavily been in our favor, and most of the Iranian power structure has been bombed. At best, Iran has shot a few planes and boats, barely doing much of any damage.

My guess is Trump will do a Madaru style takedown on the remaining regime members. It won’t go as good as Madaru, but will still be a quick sweep. As speculated previously in this thread, the government of Iran is highly likely to be split by this point with the civilian government and the Ayatollah regime, with things being able to resume once the regime gets wiped from the country. Would explain the deals Trump is making and also provide a slight explanation for what is holding things. My guess is he is making preparations with the civilian side.

Johnson called Democrats "obnoxious" and "obstructionist," blaming them for the current government shutdown as the congressional stalemate over funding DHS continues. Mojtaba Khamenei's new message raises questions about whether he’s alive

the Kurds did some heavy lifting for us and so did the UK, those numbers may not seem huge compared to ours but thats the power of coalition warefare, they allowed our ENTIRE force to be the spearhead while they focused on garrisoning and flank covering, something that would have denuded US forces as they went
