we do, the difference would be that we also vacate and evacuate civvies from those bases the first sign of something dangerous possibly happening, we did so in the leadup to this conflict with Iran as well.
Iran doesn't seem to share that concern for their civilians on/near their bases and instead we've seen in photos and videos that as we've removed some of the IRGC's actual bases, they've begun moving in on and using schools to work out of directly.
Even on day one the Ayatolah himself was apparently aware enough of the present risk of attack to where he was kept below ground in a bunker, but didn't seem to think it prudent to not have his toddler grandaughter present in the government building with him. I guess "imminent military conflict" doesn't override bring your grandaughter to work day.

That doesn't answer my question why ground forces would be necessary for anything. Operation Epic Fury's goals are to destroy Iranian missiles, missile production, their navy, and prevent Iranians from ever having nuclear weapons. What are ground forces needed for? Iranian air defenses are all gone. Just bomb them.
Let's be realistic. There is no way prove that one way or another. Civilian side access to intelligence is quite literally nothing more than just he said, she said. We won't know the real truth for probably 20 years. Just pick whatever headlines make you feel really smart and spam them whenever you feel bad.

Because Trump said from his opening video, addressing the strikes, that the Iranian people should act to take over their government once the bombs stop dropping, but it'll be up to them to do it.

Regime change isn't a goal of Operation Epic Fury.

Which would be why it's up to the Iranian people to perform regime change if they want it, while we pound the Iranian military infrastructure (or what's left of it.)

It is not a goal of the operation but it has been readily recognized from the beginning that if the Iranian people seek it, this would be the best time for them to achieve it and we welcomed that possibility.

Receipt pulling fag here once again. Who represents the "Southern States" to tell people this in an official capacity. I think that would be very alarming to the deep-red states for their individual Republican Governors coming together to issue a warning of impending doom. It's also surprising that all major and minor news sites are not reporting this statement was made by someone in an official capacity. If any state in America gets $8 gas, it will be California

There isn't really any indicator that that is the plan anyway. There has been no preparation or staging of assets in the area to get ready for that, and even if it was the plan, it would be trivial to do anyway. I mean Iraq is still in living memory, the US Marine troops would be occupying Tehran in a matter of days.
