I think others have mentioned this, but it's pretty ironic that Nick is so mad about being busted by the cops. I'm quite sure he was on his way to an early (or earlier) grave at the pace he was going. A junkie with as little willpower and such glaring stupidity as him had maybe a few months of escalating drug use before either he or one of his kids would have ended up dead.

It's also just kind of funny that he's this pissed off about being arrested since during the Vic saga I specifically remember him saying it was a personal dream of his to be recorded getting arrested while drunk and saying, "Do you know who I am!?"

Not only is he perpetually butthurt over getting arrested but he did everything in his and mommy's power to block the footage from being released. So much for making dreams become reality, Nick.

He is really mad about two things:
  1. He got caught. He sees himself as above the rules of reality, so even if he claims he was not hiding anything, he still believes he should be treated as an exception. In his mind, he is entitled to be above consequences like getting arrested for drugs. If he does not think it should apply to him, then the world is supposed to align with that. Anything that contradicts it, whether it is people, the government, or just reality itself, becomes a target of his anger because it threatens his ego and inflicts narcissistic injury.

    Imagine how powerful he'd feel (and he felt) showing his drug use to the public, and being like 'yes I'm doing that and getting scot free'. They get off it more than on fucking dry whores to the point of bleeding.

  2. He is being held accountable, constantly and from all sides. There is nothing he seems to hate more than that.
ETA: I used Nick's second preferred way to form his opinions (I can't bother with Quora) and asked AI if cocaine or drug use can make a women more dry during sex and inflict injuries.

The good news is that the courts stopped testing Nick for drugs and he's already back on cocaine, so he's possibly going to get his dream of dying high soon

This definitely proves that Ralph does actually have dirt, and that he was just scared to fully sever ties with Nick, either due to what Nick has on him or that the whole thing was Ralph trying to get Nick to reaffirm his loyalty.
