I am pretty sure Africa survives in spite of the UN, not because of it. I remember the golden rice thing turned out to be a giant failure. Stuff like smallpox eradication had more to do with local governments cooperating with charitable organizations (including the Catholic Church!) more than anything else.

You also had the US getting ready to mass-produce V1 and V2 bombs, the B-36, the B-47, the P-80, and the majority of the European allied forces sitting around in Europe, ready to be shipped over. So the Emperor did the smart thing and rolled over, and we did the smart thing and amended our "unconditional surrender" (by letting him live with no power).
 
The silver lining to the drones vs expensive missiles question is its putting the US in a trial by fire against a sundowning enemy. Id much rather the US learn how to solve the drone defense question the hard way with Iran in its current weakened state. Its much easier to learn to how fight against retarded Islamists from Tehran than Russia or China.

Someone on twitted pointed out that the Iran drone pilot flying an FPV in Iraq flew like he was drunk compared to the experienced Ukraine and Russian pilots.

Six days ago, Israeli airstrikes targeted an underground bunker in Qom, as of 2 days ago it's claimed by Israeli news outlets that the targets were Mohammed al-Hindi, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's 2nd-in-command and Akram Ajouri, the PIJ's military wing leader, responsible for terror cells in the West Bank, Syria, and Lebanon, and most of the coordination between the PIJ and Iran & Hezbollah.

Sources familiar with the PIJ denied al-Hindi's presence but not Akram's to Ashraq al-Awsat. Sources close to the organization told the Saudi Asharq that the Israeli army targeted a number of the movement’s leaders, along with Iranian figures, in a building in the city of Qom, south of Tehran, last week, without revealing their fate.

One of the sources said the Israeli strike targeted a senior military commander in the movement who had been in Iran since before the outbreak of the war. Sources say al-Ajouri had been preparing to leave Lebanon shortly before the war on Iran, but several Arab and Islamic capitals refused to receive him, it's possible his best bet was Iran since Lebanon is even less safe for Israel's enemies.

You left out the part where P-47's were being equipped with gas canisters for "irritant dispersal", and that written at the top of Japan's defense plan for the Home Island was "DO NOT GIVE THEM AN EXCUSE TO START GASSING US". We came within a cunt's hair of gassing holdouts on Okinawa, confident that the Japanese had no means of effective reply since their gas mask seals lacked resistance to mask breaking compounds, and they knew it.

Of course, their defense plan was ultimately "kill enough on the beaches they decide to offer a conditional surrender", which uh... well, was the same sort of optimistic thinking about Americans that lead to Pearl Harbor. We were going to see the war through to the end, and if the only way was to turn Japan into the world's largest mass grave, so be it.

On one hand this means that he cannot be killed, but on the other hand how can he command from a foreign country? Also for the military it'd be kind of demoralising if your leader ran away to a foreign country while they're bombing the shit out of you.
