Evangelicals think it's a prerequisite/causatory, other sects put the rebuilding in the middle of the events of the end of the world or as a sign that it's coming. In all of them it does happen at some point so if you believe then I guess it kinda is necessary, all the events are kinda necessary if you believe they'll all happen
