We could have saturation bombed any area where we thought they had launchers and wasted tons of munitions so that no ship was ever at risk, but that's unrealistic and bad strategy. Instead, we allowed Iran to demonstrate their nature as terrorists and the necessity of the world to put an end to their unceasing threats to global stability. Also, we get to pick off their launchers every time they use them.

It's taught in schools that "yellow journalism" was a huge problem. Yet for some reason, between WWII and Watergate, journalists became elevated to godly status among NPCs and the cultural elite. I guess during WWII it made some sense—journalists actually put their lives at risk to cover what was happening on the front. But what we're seeing now isn't some sort of decline from a high level of respect and integrity. All we're seeing is the return to the norm—yellow journalism and muckraking. If we go back to the "great" journalists that are the cause of boomers to this day thinking that everything said on the TV is true, I guarantee they were just as big of scumbags as their predecessors. These are the people who covered up for JFK sleeping all around DC, for example.
That's an old school tactic but it still works. You can ask a politician "Do you still beat your wife?" and when that politician says no that's absurd, you can print SENATOR REFUSES TO ADMIT THAT HE STILL BEATS HIS WIFE.
