For the purposes of this Notice, the eSafety Commissioner will accept ‘geo-blocking’ of the Material in Australia as substantive compliance with the removal requirement of this Notice. Geo-blocking refers to the practice of restricting access to, or delivery of, online content based on the geographical location of an end-user’s IP address.

I went back looking for the CC New Zealand reply.
Two threads underneath it, I stumbled on this

Which brings me to the question:
They accept geoblocking, but the Kiwifarms is already being blocked by the ISP on order of the eSafety Commissioner?

Why do these entities always ask the website to do their job for them? If they're bothered by it, why not contact ISPs and tell them to block?

Testing the water, I think. I like a kid testing the boundaries with their parents.

I can tell you from the view of a western-European: because the law forces them to go company first, because (in my country) forcing a network provider like an ISP is extreme and we (used to) want to keep the State away from network providers to prevent censorship.

Aside from that: Don’t mistake a silence in media for Europeans not being more and more fed up with the restrictions of liberties by the way. I used to be worried more, but nowadays I think it’s a matter of time for a wind of liberating change.
