Have any of you gorls gotten fillers/plastic surgery/cosmetic procedures? - Gorl Talk's Official Looksmaxxing Thread

I don't see the point in it. There is no real off-ramp. You're pretending to be younger and paying increasingly more each year, or you're just delaying the inevitable. Even people like madonna or cher who can afford to get whatever they want done still look worse every year, just in a different way than being wrinkly. Looking old is a lot better than turning into a freak.

I had revision (excision and fat grafting) surgery on a pretty gnarly scar from a car accident. It was 100% worth it, it's still visible but much thinner and flatter than it was originally. I'm considering going back for subscision and then maybe laser or microneedling to see if it'll fade more.

I also got botox once but wasn't a fan, it took a lot of the expressiveness away from my face.

My friend and I are the same age. She gets lip fillers and botox (and now her 18 year old daughter does too but that's another story) but looks older than me somehow.
I sometimes think about l sorting out my 11s but then I just think fuck it, am old and that's it.

An eighteen year old getting Botox? Why? She has no wrinkles to speak of.

I think it's very damaging for young girls to see their mothers getting procedures done, especially if you resemble her and see your own mother rejecting the features she passed on to you. I would hate to be so cripplingly obsessed with my appearance at the ripe age of eighteen.

Totally agree, and it's been the subject of some very heated discussions between us.
Her daughter has bought into the hype of "preventative botox", which is the most disgusting money grabbing scheme to prey on young girls. Her cheeks and lips are getting bigger every time I see her, and it's so sad as she's such a beautiful young girl.
The Kardashians have a lot to answer for.

What's this medicube thing? Will it sort out madonna hand syndrome? I'm not that bad but years of driving with my arm out the window has done an number on poor old lefty here.

I'd also like to hear if fillers will fix up the 11 lines, please. I'm tired of looking angry I'd rather fool people by looking pleasant.

Yes. Rhinoplasty, botox, awake liposunction (belly), chin/lip fillers years ago. I don't regret anything, they are very subtle to begin with, nothing drastic

It does thighten the skin somewhat and makes skincare penetrate more effeciently.
I has 4 modes you can use. I used the microcurrent and for shits and gigs turned it way up. I felt that in my cheek muscles 2 days after.
Is it gonna work on your hands? Maybe.

I have performed a wide range of procedures on others, but only do minimal to my own skin and face. As with most things, the key is moderation: taking time to consider the long-term consequences and researching both the procedure and your practitioner before committing to anything.

If you’ve done all of that then you’ll probably come out of the procedure well, but even then I would recommend never touching your nose with filler (pixie tips are a trend, prone to complications and will age badly) and avoiding anyone who offers a “liquid BBL” or “liquid boob job” like the plague - these just aren’t safe procedures and anyone who will offer them is more interested in your money than your health or the aesthetic outcome. If they’re not taking a full medical and consent before injecting then leave, likewise if they won’t show you the products they’re using so you can verify they’re genuine. Anyone offering PRP outside of a clinic should be a red flag, as should any skin-breaking treatment being offered somewhere that’s not using aseptic technique.

Fortunately it doesn’t seem to have spread over here yet but I’ve seen lots of ghetto “technicians” in the states offering “needle-free filler” with hyaluron pens which is a horrific idea and is going to cause massive tissue damage and terrible results whichever part of the body you’re using it on. It’s only a matter of time before they kill someone, and while I would hope Kiwis are too bright for that, you don’t know what you don’t know.

Depending on how entrenched they are, Botox (or another botulinum A) treatment would more effective for 11 lines. If that’s all you want treating then a decent practitioner should be able to isolate that area and leave you will full movement in the rest of your face, they should start with relatively few units (4-6 units in 5 injection points is normal) and can increase up to 10 after two weeks if you feel you need a top up, half the doses if you’re using Azzalure rather than one of the other brands.

For most people who just want to age slightly slower, good skincare (including daily SPF) and a monthly mild peel/dermaplane/microneedle should be sufficient - providing you’re following decent hygiene practices and get a few basic techniques down that can all be done at home.

I had CryoPen to remove milia that were scratching and rubbing against clothes. Decent results but some came back and there was a bit of hyperpigmentation. I only had one session though.

I'd say so, even if they are considered necessary. I know I might need surgery to take skin from the roof of my palate and put it on my gums because they're receding. Braces will do that.
Oh fuck. I thought it was a side effect of using Adhesa daily for multiple years.

Now I think it might be combo of both.

I really want a tummy tuck cuz I've lost like a hundred pounds at an age where the skin isn't going to bounce back but they're so expensive I haven't fully decided if it's worth going into debt for right now. Also every consultation I've had so far, the surgeons give me weird vibes, I've only seen male ones though. The nurses are usually cool
Other than that, I do laser hair removal

Sometimes it can be due to genetics, but according to YouTube Dentists like 'The Bentist', it is a very common side effect of orthodontic work. The gums recede because you are brushing around them to get to the tooth. So far, they're not bleeding and they're not sensitive, but I had to look up the procedure to see what it involve. Your gums don't grow back, but the skin on your palate does, and that's what they use to 'stuff' it. Other medications can cause receding gums, even certain toothpastes.

One day, maybe, I might even need a nose job because I crushed it flat when I was 5 and had to have it manually pulled out. Not exactly a rhinoplasty, just something to make breathing easier.

Is laser hair removal worth doing? I've always been curious about it but have never known anyone who has had it done. Congrats on your weight loss by the way!

I had an 8 hour plastic surgery. Lower body lift with muscle repair and breast lift with implants. I had an extreme apple shape and lost 125 pounds. My tits looked like a tangerine in a tube sock. I felt deformed from the loose skin on my stomach and butt. Very happy with the results.

In preparing for the surgery I found out that about 100,000 people get a tummy tuck every year in the US and about 10,000 of those are a full lower body lift.

Ok you told us this much, now tell us the rest. How much did recovery hurt? How long did it take? How'd ya lose the pounds? Did you do the surgery in the US or ?? How much did it cost?

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I looked into this and from what I learned, including speaking to a friend who had it done and loved it, is it puts the hair into an inactive state so there is still some maintenance sessions required on a somewhat regular basis, which will depend on your own hair growth cycle. She rarely needed it. Some people need more frequent maintenance sessions. So, it isn't permanent but very long lasting and results are very individual.

I bought one of those basic at home off brand lasers for about 80€ and used it regularly. My underarm hair is gone, and never grown back. My leg hair has required more maintenance sessions but I haven't been as dedicated as I could have been to my legs. This year I hope to get more serious about my leg hair removal.

I am not that hairy and have the kind of colouring ideal for laser hair removal. Laser hair removal can be tricky for very light hair and for those with darker skin. Or was. I don't keep up with all the advances.

In my opinion from a financial pov, it is worth doing a bit of research by watching clips of women with similar complexion to you having it done and their experience. Then the type of laser they used and comparing with at-home devices, which can be very cost effective. You can also laser your man's back!

End of my tism on this subject.

I've gotten a few sessions of lazer hair removal, but it wasn't working well enough on me to justify the cost. My mom and sister had great, long-lasting results after finishing their recommended number of sessions, but unfortunately that wasn't the case for me.

If your hair growth is hormonal (due to PCOS or CAH) lazer probably won't work, in fact it might make it worse. In those cases, electrolysis is the only viable permanent hair removal option.

If you end up BOGGED please post it so we can laugh at it. I love botched cosmetic surgeries.
