If a woman has a kid and the man leaves them, the woman's dating prospects are permanently degraded because of being a mother. Men do not have that problem, they can serially set up franchise families so long as they can afford it. Many men waste years of a woman's life just because they can, and don't understand the cruelty of it because they can always find someone young enough and have a kid. She has a much higher stakes decision to make.

sure, but senior citizen males routinely knock up women. I see that some 70-something celebrity man has a new baby frequently (al pacino just did this, for instance). the reverse never happens. Women have to have their lives together in the first half to procreate. this dynamic is unfair, but it has the side effect of making women much more sensible. A family with just boys was telling me that they told their elementary aged sons it was okay to do something that might break a limb, but not okay to do something that might break their spine or skull. This was the compromise since their boys were determined to take some kind of risk and could not be talked out of it completely. A girl literally never needs to be told that, it would not occur to her to purposely do anything that would break any of her bones because that's fucking stupid and it hurts a lot. Relatedly, every single person that studies end-of-life concerns notes that men universally regret that they worked too much rather than spending time with family. Women normally recognize what actually matters about life in their 20s or 30s so they do not typically have that kind of regret at the end of life.

The second-order consequences of criminally prosecuting people for reporting a rape when no conviction is obtained would be insane. The conviction rate for rape is already abysmally low, so if the victims in those cases all went to jail, we'd have more rape victims in prison than rapists.
