This is something I've been saying for a while, and I think it's worth considering here. If anything it looks like things are getting worse in those areas. There have been slight improvements to censorship, and some minor improvements in banking, but nothing that has really mattered that much, or that can't be quickly undone by an unfriednly admin. I'm worried at some point in the nearish future we are going to see heavy AI moderation, and digital surveilence, forced digital ID, and everything tied together in a way that make seperating your bank account from your online identity completely impossible. Then once that is the case, it would be extremely easy to silence political disent online, control naratives, and kill any movement the current party doesn't like. And I see Trump not only doing nothing to stop this, he seems to be helping it along. To me this is just like leading lambs to the slaughter. He doesn't give a fuck what happens once he's out of office. He's just lining his pockets as much as possible while he's in there, and trying to keep people somehwat off his back.
