Major warning sign for Trumps economy.
Jobs are not increasing, they are loosing. Even if we discount the illegal jobs losses, the vibes, which are what many people go off of nowadays, are bleak. Recruiting is an AI war with college graduates and job seeking individuals unable to get hired. Januarys job gains were only in welfare sectors and healthcare aids for dying boomers. Thats not an economic boom, thats signs of a large downturn.
This can no longer be brushed away by Biden's abysmal performance. There have been multiple opportunities from Trump to improve the situation such as shutting down ALL visas, going to war with offshoring white collar jobs, restricting AI usage, but none of it is the admins focus lately. Too much myopic gazing at the stock market and claiming 'mission accomplished'. While the war with Iran is a net positive, voters are not going to accept the admins distracted priority on even the hint of nation building or foreign policy sidequests anymore.
You can argue its because of the filibuster but you shouldn't count on your entire term on congress cooperation. New avenues to achieve objectives need to be discovered. To do otherwise is a failure of governance.
The weak economy is going to be even worse when he tries to defend tariffs as popular sentiment slides. Cost of living is still rising and people growing impatient with Trumps slow recovery, myself included. If cost of living went down or the labor market improved, this wouldn't be as much of an issues, but the administrations ignorance on the economy means democrats will have a much easier time convincing voters to vote blue in the midterms.
The lights are flashing *DANGER DANGER, PULL UP* and no one is listening.
