also, im not saying bombing Iran is wrong as an idea, im saying I question what the end goal is, and how achievable it is, I know those are biggger concepts than they pay you to deal with but some of us have to worry about it.

I think now that we have publicly back the kurds the idea of a popular movement erupting from inside Iran against the government is wild, they realize if they lose now they stand to have their nation picked apart by some ethic group the west has backed.

its like if during biden china tryied to do regime change hoping the chuds would rise up in revolt while also funding Mexico to retake California and texas

By your criteria then you all should shut the fuck up and listen to my perspective, since I was in 9 years and speak the language (Farsi) in addition to two deployments in much closer proximity to the local populace than a high-speed assault to Baghdad.

Doesn't make any sense. If we were talking like a negligent discharge, the logic would apply. But if we're talking a mistaken belief that it's an enemy squadron then, no shit, you're going to shoot them down whether it's 1 or 10 jets. That's not to say it wasn't malicious - maybe it was - but the logic of attacking all 3 is equally consistent with it being misidentification or intentional.

It's not about the particulars of flying a jet. It's about basic logic. If you misidentified a squadron as being hostile Iranians, you would shoot at... all of them. If you were anti-American and wanted to kill them all you would shoot at... all of them. Are you tracking? The mere fact of shooting at more than one doesn't tell us anything since the claim isn't that's accidental in the sense of "Oops, I pressed the wrong button 3 times in a row! Tee hee!"

Ill listen to most people on this threads perspective, dosent always mean I agree.

thats bad ass scount, Good on ya, those werent the gimme years neither. Close family member was a translator to, its hard work and you have to work with difficult people, they told me it was as much about being a people person as a translator, figuring out if the people are just telling you what you want to hear and such.

Anyway, hows Iraq these days, you manage to get them all squared away?

hope you came back the same brother, countless others dident, alot more than we lost in the sand.

real question is, would you do it all again? Did we make the right call in Iraq? that will tell us alot more about your thoughts about Iran.

I have sort of hassled you a bit.

Mostly I'm reading your posts as blatant "mad about America" posting while scrambling for reasons to justify that feeling.

If you are infact openminded on the matter all you need do is wait to see what happens. Concern posting is not a good look for anyone.

It is about the particulars, particularly the particular SOPs. Being a fighter pilot is not just about playing with your stick, he knows the procedures of how to decide whether to actually shoot at something, and how. Unless the Kuwaiti pilot is just a fucking retard with no training at all.
