Thread is already off the rails so I’ll jump in. I am vaguely reminded of people bitching back when Tucker Carlson interviewed Vladimir Putin—how dare you platform so-and-so because of such-and-such.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with sitting down with somebody, asking them questions and generally letting them talk. It doesn’t matter if you like them, if they’re a good person, if they’re wrong, if they’re a liar. If they were wrong and their words had consequences, make it clear to your audience and call it a day. Talk about lessons learned if you feel like it. But their own words are still just their words. Being responsible for ‘platforming’ is such a bullshit concept. There shouldn’t be a penalty for curiosity.

You're correct that they aren't being accurate or nuanced or "fair," but you well know how many people ignore or don't understand distinctions when there's someone to poke or pick at, regardless of reasons not to, especially when it comes to some popular topics.

You have a show. You made a defensible decision to speak to some people. Interviewers are not responsible for the statements of their guests, even if they get apes flinging shit at them for it. Maybe consider neutral disclaimers or something, just to shut down the retards in advance, but if you can get an interesting interview and want to do it, you should.
