This is a stupid argument. Pope Francis actively promoted mass immigration from the Third World into the US and Europe, openly telling Italian officials that African immigrants would make up for the low birthrates of native Italians. Under his direction, Catholic organizations spent billions trying to achieve that goal. When he died, 250k Catholics attended his funeral and the entire Catholic community mourned. Does that mean every Catholic supported every single one of his policies?
I also never claimed he was unimportant. The reason why so many people attended his funeral is because he was a great scholar who also advocated for Sephardi and Mizrahi Jews at a time when they were discriminated against by the Israeli government.
