Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

So apparently we're arming the Kurds now in the hopes that they'll lead the internal regime change?

Does anyone have any context on Iranian Kurds (like how many there are, how alienated they feel from the rest of Iran, if they've had a history of armed uprising, and so forth)? Is this a viable strategy, or are we in for another repeat of Iraq/Syria?
No way are Kurds going to be marching into Tehran. They're just going to kill Iranian soldiers in their corner of the country and then probably try to separate into a new enthostate as per usual. We're probably hearing of them as just the first rebel faction we're arming because of the name recognition, previous relations with the US, and their distance from Iranian strongholds. It will probably take longer to arm other rebel groups because they need to be reached and assessed as sufficiently credible and pro-American. I don't think we're going to be handing guns over to just any Iranian protester.

the nice (or tragic depending on your view of them) thing about the kurds is they're like arming an insurgency with a built in expiration date.

You can make them throw themselves at enemies and rest assured that whatever new group comes to power, they'll end up killing the kurds, because everyone kills the kurds.

In short they are the thunder warriors

We still do, it's just inactive. I had to register when I turned 18 and like a loyal American citizen I did so.
pretty sure you get automatically registered. its not something you opt into because youre a 'loyal american citizen'.
not that it matters. its impossible to think of a scenario where the government would enforce the draft.
also i dont think its something that you can opt out of because of medical conditions - think thats something that would happened if/when a draft got called and you went for military screening.

Only a few more days before the AI-atollahs in the Artifical Assembly of Experts assembles KhamenAI - the Artifical Supreme Leader!

"Kill yourself, AI-atollah John Henry Khamenei."
"No."
[SCIENCE] "Seriously, kill yourself."
"Ok, fine, in the name of Allah."

To be totally fair, even I didn’t know this.

selective service will never be drawn from as long as we have the lower class of spics/niggers
A few days old but I searched the thread and couldn't find this posted.
Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett says Turkey (A NATO member) is the new Iran.

hes right but they're less dangerous and still willing to work with israel ie they will boycott israel and then send oil to haifa with the destination country being PALESTINE ;)

You register if you register to vote.

what i mean is that now you are still getting registered whether or not you do this.
i think they have switched to an automatic enrollment system.
they just put you on it whether you sign on a line or not during registering to vote.
which makes sense, since its required for everyone anyways.
i.e. you're not going to be able to dodge the draft by never registering to vote or whatever.
also i think if youre not registered for draft you get restricted from certain things like government loans and/or jobs or some shit like that

my ultimate point being its not 'oh i signed up for the draft'
you're going on that list one way or another, everyone does.

you realize they had to put on 6-8 months of pageantry for our parents to get them to be on board with doing thi SAME SHIT DOWN TO THE SAME REBEL GROUP IN IRAQ?
The main thing I enjoy about the Trump admin is the blatant honesty about the fucked up shit. Sure it's not a great idea to fund terrorists, but at least he's honest about it.
