Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

The only way the strategy ever made sense to me is if Iran was expecting to be given the approximate carrier location by Russia or China. Guess neither were very interested. Would have figured that just like the missile units Iran eould have given the speedboat forces some deadhand orders. At the very least having a thousand speedboats moving about would have achieved at least not having everyone together to get bombed in a few runs.
Trying to hit a moving and maneuvering target with a dumb ballistic missile would involve odds like the Powerball lottery. The only slimmest of chances would be when she turns into the wind while recovering aircraft.

That isn’t what I’m saying. Of course they’re building nukes.
I am well aware that Iran is after a bomb, and despite repeated attempts to stop them, the have a pretty talented set of guys actually building one. That they have the capacity and will is not in doubt. That they’d use it to wipe Israel off the map isnt in doubt either. The ayatollah and his ilk are the worst thing to happen to Iran in a while. Yes, Iran is after a bomb.
What I’m saying is that this is the exact playbook previously used to get us, and you, into a prolonged feet on the ground war. Right now there’s public buy in for a short, four week intense bombardment to decapitate the regime, after which they think they either install whoever’s most useful or the Iranian people will gratefully rise up (despite the fact said ayatollah just massacred 35,000 poor sods of their own people who tried that.)
What this is laying the groundwork for is a wider engagement. Which is going to happen becasue a. Money and b. With all these shells being lobbed around something is going to get hit that will justify it. You’re going to have boots on the ground, and at that point it segues from justified regime change to Halliburton’s share price, and anyone pointing that out will be found in the woods with their wrists cut in very peculiar ways

You aren't incorrect to be suspicious of mid east entanglements.
Let me start with this:
It doesn't fucking matter. You admit Iran is enriching uranium. They are after the bomb. They just sent a bunch of drones and missiles into countries that pledged neutrality and denied the US use of their soil and airspace, but Iran did not care and attacked them anyway.
What is the alternative to taking action on them? Seriously, what else would you rather do when a completely insane death cult is wanting nuclear weapons? It won't be our problem next week, sure. But how long until Hezbollah is trying to build a bomb in NYC because Iran doesn't think we're Islamic enough or whatever insane reason their head theologist decides is a good reason for unleashing atomic fire on the infidel.

Secondly, your concerns are completely alleviated by reality.
THE US DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH FORCES IN THE REGION FOR A GROUND WAR IN IRAN. IT CANNOT GET THEM THERE FOR A LONG TIME.
This isn't HOI, this isn't call of duty. You don't just kill 10 ayatollahs and then use the points to spawn an armored division from the drop down menu.
There is no heavy armor, there is no logistics train. There is maybe 10,000 marines scattered on ships and regional bases. That is not even close enough to invade a nation of 90 million people, even if the population wants it.
You can look at Iraqi Freedom - for a country of (at the time) ~30 million people, it took Dubya nearly a year and a half to position and train enough forces to invade Iraq. And while that was enough military might to defeat saddam, it was probably about 1/5th to 1/10th what was needed to actually stabilize the country long term.

Trump bombed them in June. If Trump was planning to get us into a boots on the ground invasion, he would have been moving forces then. All US infantry divisions would be going through desert training an acclimation. Nothing of the sort has happened. This doesn't escalate because it is impossible for it do so.

- Multiple World Wars having to be saved by the US
- Entire network of alliances and defense paid for at the expense of the US
- Able to waste massive amounts of what would be defense budget on mudslimes and sambos

But sure. The US/Israel strikes Iran and Europe is most affected. Enjoy paying double on your gas bill, it's what you deserve.
Also don't forget:
being warned about getting so reliant on Russia, and then laughing about it.

2018: "You guys need to move away from getting so much of your oil and gas from Russia. They are your Number #1 regional threat. You are making yourself reliant on them and giving them money. You also aren't spending enough on your militaries. You are really putitng yourself in a bad place with Russia."
Eurofags: "lol, ok sure Burger. You're just jelly of our free healthcare.

2022: *Russia invades Ukraine, Surprise Pikachu the EU has no weapons and can't even sanction Russia properly because their economies and heating their homes is completely dependent on energy from Russia*
Eurofags: "Please save us from Russia, USA! You must come and die for us and spend a shit ton of money to save us from a problem we created!" *buys another 100 billion of oil and gas from Russia* "You have to come save us!" *gives Russia naother 100 billion in gas, and 20 billion in loans to Ukraine* "You have a duty to put your whole economy into supporting Ukraine!"

Donald Trump talking about the Holohoax during a press release on a war in the Middle East he promised wouldn't happen.

I know someone who works at Lockheed Martin who assures me we haven't and aren't stopping building missiles. Not like we're going to run out on a little shithole like Iran, we could probably flatten it 20 times over WITHOUT nuking it and still have enough to keep Xi in his place
There's a reason we don't have gay ass socialized medicine. We spend TRILLIONS a year on the military. We ain't running out of shit.

A great video on the leadup to the Revolution in 1979 from everyone's favorite Bosnian Monarchist:

A TLDR: The Shah tried to modernize Iran but wasn't satisfied with the speed at which Iran industrialized, so he ended up embracing a Soviet-style command economy which, while greatly increasing Iran's industrial output, bankrupted the country and caused massive inflation. In order to fight the inflation, he tried installing price controls as a way to destroy the old middle class of smallholders and shopkeepers, as they were the monetary backing of the Mullahs. This just caused a widespread black market and increasing poverty. His new middle class of urban professionals also turned on him thanks to the inflation, and the Mullahs despised him after decades of trying to remove them from public life forcefully without going full Jacobin/Bolshevik and actually killing them.

The narrative that the Shah was overthrown because "america bad" is a gross oversimplification. Iran had to be a US ally as they shared a land border with the Soviet Union, and were invaded by Moscow within living memory. This on top of the Tudeh constantly trying to install a communist dictatorship. The Shah wanted Iran to be strong, secular, and indipendent, but he didn't have the patience to accept that this would take longer than his own lifetime. He tried shortcuts via communism, and it cost him everything.

Not gonna happen with the strikes on Hezbollah but hope their targeting is less shit than in the gulf, actually hitting the republic instead of the british bases wont be "nothing ever happens" as easily as the drone strikes by the brits

Trying to get a sense of how the war is going based on the energy levels of an eighty-year-old man who hasn't slept is up there with those "body language expert" channels who try to cold read prisoner interviews.
Pack them all up into a shipping container along with the "age of consent" people and mail them to Tehran.

US needs Europe to make the logistics of this thing work. There's a reason those tankers were stationed in Spain, and were redirected to Germany, France and Great Britain.

The US bases in Middle-East are not sufficient alone to support this operation. US needs its European allies, like it or not.
We can make it work without them, but it would make things more difficult yes.

The big issue for the Euros though is if the USA isn't in the Persian Gulf wielding the hammer they will have to be the ones doing it. But they cant.

This is the thing that often sets Americans teeth on edge. The assumption by Europeans that they are doing America a "favor" by "letting" us use these bases. It is no such thing. America is doing Europe a "favor" by being the enforcement mechanism keeping the Muslims in line and the oil flowing. Its our blood and treasure paying to keep Europe warm in the winter.

Why would anyone need to do that? The zoomers will be drafted soon. Either a traditional draft or a "soft draft" where anyone who is unemployed and under a certain age is obliged to go die for Israel.
