In a hypothetical war with China the fewer allies China has to create second/third fronts the better.
By destroying this informal coalition against us (BRICS) we directly reduce the likelihood of war with China. Flipping Persia would also permanently fuck up their belt and road plans. We very much have a vested interest in keeping China contained and this is currently the most expedient way to do that. More's the better if we can do this without boots on the ground.
