The fantasy here isn't literally being raped by a rich guy, it's the idea that the fantastical extreme of an ideal man wants [female PoV character] so bad.

Rarely are such fantasies 'true' rape or even if from an IRL ethical standpoint legitimate rape; they are about other underlying factors and dynamics. To us, it may seem like lady fic fantasizes about rape, but this is because of the simplistic nature of our own fantasies and our own over-focus on the actual sex itself as the fantasy.

Rome collapsed because the coalition of nobles kept being empowered and taking land from the common legionaires and middle class. Meaning that hegemonic power was consolidated into a single class of people instead of being evenly distributed through the empire based on service put in.
