Apparently they only have two naval supply broats and one refueling broat. Not going to do well in any sort of prolonged engagement. That said, they have what it takes to do a blitz and just flood the island.
Actually they have a requirment that all ferries, ro-ros, and other civilian vessels over a certain size to be built using military naval specifications so they can mobilize quickly without violating any naval restriction treaties or causing alarm on the enemy.

I don't fucking get it why people expect taiwan with 1980s fighter jets and 1960s modernized tanks with first gen patriot and harpoon missile batteries (the US by treaty with china can only sell old shit to taiwan) can somehow withstand without massive US help a flood of modern hypersonic and supersonic cruise missiles, drones, EM warfare and stop a invasion on a channel just 110 miles wide.

Fucking pedo guarding isn't a good look. I guess you really think Clinton was just there for the snorkling.
And here I was thinking KF bros were based.
Scurry back to reddit now to brag about how you definitely owned the chuds this time.
That's all you got? Sad, Epstein turbo-spergs we're more entertaining last summer.

Cool, slap that in front of a judge as proof Bill is a pedo, see what happens. I want the Pedos wood chippered, but you got to be able to actually prove it. This is what I'm trying to tell you morons, you have to have something that'll survive grand juries, judges and juries.

Yeah China has basically no institutional experience in modern war (for all of their posturing about 'winning' in Korea it was almost solely because they had extensive experience in war by that point).
It wasn't even that they were particularly good at it, it was just that there were a lot of them vs. isolated American and UN units. Mass wave tactics have always been China's strength, outside that their record isn't great.

Yeah China has basically no institutional experience in modern war (for all of their posturing about 'winning' in Korea it was almost solely because they had extensive experience in war by that point). However I can't think of another time when the American public in general has been more demoralized and disunited, barring right before the actual Civil War.
Slam a couple passenger jets into high rises again. We'll have a dozen Toby Keith clones serenading us and making us angry while we march in the streets for blood again.

China is untested militarily (their last conflict was against Vietnam in 1979, which they lost) and crossing the strait would be an order of magnitude harder than D-Day. I’m not sure if the American public has the stomach for one or more of our ships being sunk, though.
And I don't believe the Chinese public will have the stomach for all the casualties they will take. Remember, every Chinese military member killed, disabled, or missing is some elderly parents' support lost for good. Believe China must be very casualty-averse, much more so than ourselves. And with their total lack of large-scale real-world combined-arms operational experience, an invasion of Taiwan would be a major-league shit show for them.

Venezuela was taken out as it provided oil for China. Iran's shadow fleet of tankers are being taken out and reducing the amount of tankers available to move oil to China. Now Iran itself is going to fall and their native oil production will be cut off from China.

Both China and Russia suffer from these countries being taken out, reducing the capability of Russia helping China in the 2027 invasion.
  • About venezuela: unlikely, despite warning from Russia and China, Maduro refused to mobilize or disperse his forces, they washed their hands after that, and maduro since mid 2025 has signaled he was ready to stop selling oil to cuba, china and russia if he could make a deal, and his corruption and disruption of oil production has made a token ally at best since oil production has free falled since 2014, at most the venezuela oil fleet could be used to move iranian or russian sanctioned oil, but there's better people (greece and india and china) to do that,Brazil and Colombia becoming pro china and russia since 2022, have also reduced a lot of the dependency on venezuela by that axis and unlike venezuela, both still have a functional economy to also be of economic value, since china is currently dumping their EV and smartphone production on both.
  • Iran's shadow fleet won't make a sizeable dent on China's oil security, especially with land based routes and oil supplies from Russia, the central asian turkic oil countries and china's own fleet
  • The lack of open help and military supplies from the first iran-israel strikes and US nuclear raid has shown that strategically Iran isn't really helpful to china, you could argue russia has its hands full in africa and ukraine to lend a hand, but china's ally pakistan is right across the border and would be a unassailable supply route of chinese weaponry, which didn't happen.

As I understand it, if you don't hold one of the western ports, you'd have to land on the eastern side of the Island and there's there's not that many places suitable for actual amphibious landings. Something about how the currents work and all that. Taiwan is a harder target than it looks, and I don't think it's that China couldn't take it, but like you said, the losses may not be worth it to them.

Also, China mainly wants it for the chip fabs, which if Taiwan was likely to fall, would likely be destroyed. By the Taiwanese or us.

Taiwan won't be in it alone. believe we'll be there. And there's a reason we sold Japan 1000 Tomahawks a while back.

Oh, that's curious. What the hell made you want to go to Taiwan? Fishing?
I was finishing up Uni and was curious if there was a way to get teaching credentials abroad while I teach English or something so I made a post on reddit. I got a DM from a big private school in Taiwan that needs a social studies teacher ASAP. A week later I was in Taiwan getting settled in their dorms.

You know in this fascinating hypothetical I would reformat the hardrive to compatible with the computer it is in as that would be easier and less prone to error than the alternative. Of course as we all know trying to teach trans people to be comfortable in the body that they are in is a crime of the highest order but it really makes you think doesn't it.
tbh the twenty eight seconds I glanced at sounded like he asked an AI to write it for him and the robot was oldfag enough it still thought we use floppies instead of usb/optical media that reads the same on anything from pc to mac to linux to cars

I went on a wiki and google spree a bit ago about Taiwan, I looks like a more interesting place than I though, that huge Taipei skyscraper looked pretty cool too. My mom used to be friends with a woman from Taiwan, nice lady. I tried to sell Studs on some Taiwanese liquor, but I think it's too fancy for him.
